CHAPTER 39

My parents and Mr. Boromeo returned to the office after just half an hour. I turned to look at Viel, he was still resting the side of his head on the couch as he lazily looked at me. I raised my brows at him, while Sidro stood up and walked towards Mr. Bandini as he greeted my parents again. “Viel?” I mumbled his name even though he was already looking at me and his mysterious eyes bore into me. “Hmm?” He responded. “Can I borrow your phone, please?” I smiled cutely at him but his strict-looking face didn’t even change a bit. He just raised his thick brows at me in a manly way before he fished for his phone in his pocket and handed it to me. I grinned. Well, I wanted to check our pictures and post them on my timeline on i********:. “Son” Mr. Bandini is called Viel. He was talking with my mother and he was now looking in our direction. Viel stood up as he put both hands in his pockets. While he left me busy with his phone. I noticed that my father wasn’t there. I think he went out to answer the call together with Sidro. I glanced at Viel, who was now having a serious conversation with his father and my mom too. I just shrugged, since I’m very sure that it’s about business and I’m not really into it. Why not say that you don’t really know a thing about it, Karina?... I puffed my breath when my inner voice whispered that in my head. Anyways, I just shoved it away and focused my attention on Viel’s phone. I excitedly scrolled on his phone and my face grimaced when I couldn’t even see an IG icon on his phone. Ah, this frosty, unromantic man is hopeless when it comes to this case. I pouted as I glanced at them and turned my attention to the phone that I was holding again. “Cassidy.” A voice from my dad. I didn’t notice that he was now in front of me and his brow crinkled before he continued. I put down the phone and looked at my dad. “Yes, dad?” I asked and glanced in Viel’s direction. “Come here.” My dad commanded before he turned his back on me. He strode his way towards those three busies discussing something I don’t know since I couldn’t hear them. I stood up and started walking to them. “Hebron.” Mr. Bandini acknowledged when he noticed that we were now near to them and he craned his neck to smile at me too. My dad nodded as he took the seat beside my mother and the only vacant one was on Viel’s right side, so I sat beside him. While they were talking, I was pouting as I handed him his phone back. “Here,” I mumbled grumpily. He looked at me confused about my tone. “What?” His thick brows frowned as he leaned a bit so I could hear him while our parents were busy chattering and this time it was not about business, they were talking about my upcoming birthday. “You don’t have an IG.” I snorted. His thick brows were now almost met while they sharply darted at me. “Why not use your phone then?” His brows knotted in confusion as if he couldn’t get me. We were interrupted when my mom called me. “Sweetheart,” I heard her as she looked at me. I sighed. “Yes, mom?” I let out a sly smile when I caught my dad and Viel’s father looking at me. They were talking about my upcoming birthday earlier but I didn’t pay attention to that though. “Are you feeling well now?” She asked me. I was confused for a moment. Why is she asking? I’m perfectly fine. “Huh?” I asked, confused. “I’m fine mom,” I answered, still confused, plus the intent stares from Viel made me even more nervous and uneasy. “Are you sure? You told us earlier that you were feeling dizzy?” She continued and that’s when I remember that. I forgot, that’s just an alibi though. “Oh, yes...yes mom, I’m okay now. Don’t worry.” I smiled assuringly. My mom nodded and continued conversing with my dad and Mr. Bandini. I bit my lower lip and looked to my side where Viel’s mysterious cold eyes were waiting for me. “Dizzy? What happened?” He sternly asked, then his eyes quickly checked me as if he was trying to see if there was something wrong with me. “It’s nothing, I’m okay,” I said," because I’m okay! He looked like he was not convinced and suddenly he stood up. We all looked at him. I tilted my head to see him properly since he was so tall and he was standing in front of us while both hands were in his pockets. Where is he going? “I’ll just walk her around, Dad,..” He excused formally as he looked at my parents. After that, he dragged me out so I wouldn’t protest anymore. You won’t do that though, you want to be with him alone too, remember? My inner voice lingers in my head. Well, I won’t deny that anyway. He pulled me out of the office. “Where are we going?” I asked as I gave him a questioning look. He stopped and faced me, his cold impaired beautiful orbs piercing through me. ‘What happened? When was I asleep?” He asked in a serious tone. I can’t help but let out a low chuckle. “I told you, I’m okay,” I said and the amusement was very visible in my voice. Thinking that he was concerned about me made me feel very happy deep down. I looked at him while the smile was still plastered on my lips. His eyes became more intense while looking at me and his lips pursed while leering at me as if he was checking if I was saying the truth. I shook my head while chuckling at the same time. ‘’I’m okay, did you just bring me here to ask me that?..” He avoided his gaze at me, which made my smile grow wider… I jumped in front of him when I noticed that he was about to turn his back on me. “Hey, I’m asking!” I asked while masking a smirk. He looks so damn adorable. He glared at me.. and the guy who doesn’t like swearing just cussed under his breath right now. I laughed. Gorgeous, a walking Greek god in the flesh, unromantic, my frosty… “Hey, frosty! You’re a bit warm today…” I teased and giggled. “Oh, shut up, you brat.” He spat at me before he turned his back and left me there standing while smiling widely like crazy. It takes time for an uptight man to be tamed.
