CHAPTER 34

It's 11 p.m.

After a short conversation with Viel, someone called him, an old investor that he has to leave me for a while to talk with that old man.

My parents were still busy coping with other business friends and colleagues.

I decided to go back to you to our table. The waitress immediately placed a new delish dessert for me and a glass of pineapple juice.

I was glancing from time to time in Viel's direction, he was still busy with those men around him though.

"OH, my, my.."

I frowned when I heard a familiar voice coming from my back. I turned to look whose voice it was, while my brows are crinkled.

I saw how Simon winked at those girls from their table, girls were giggling as they wave at him. Told yah, playboy.

It's Simon Johnson, the cousin of Viel.

Of course, it's not surprising why he's here. He was sporting a grey three-piece suit. A few steps away he was already smiling widely at me as and waved his hands while looking in my direction.

"KC!" He called my name livelily and it's weird to see that his eyes lit up when his eyes darted on me.

" Hi," I greeted shortly.

He took the vacant seat in front of me without asking me, then he clasps his hands as he rested his elbow on the table, Simon's grin grew wider when we were now facing each other.

" You look so gorgeous, KC." He said almost in a whisper. Well, I don't what to react to that, I appreciate compliments, yes, but just like I always say, I'm not into it.

" Oh, thanks," I responded in a serious voice.

I have been here for a couple of hours now since the party hadn't started yet but I haven't seen him around.

" Simon," I called him in a serious tone.

I saw how Simon's smile grew wider when he heard me utter his name.

" Yes, KC?"

The softness in his voice was very evident, It's not his usual voice when he's talking to others.

I raised my brows at the thought of that, I remembered that my friend Crisha has a crush on him... I guess so.

" Stop staring at me, Simon," I stated.

He let out a low laugh and amusingly shook his head.

" Why so beautiful, KC?!" He exclaimed and I didn't expect him to lean forward and squeeze both of my cheeks,

" Hey! f*****g stop that!" I smack his hands and only earned chuckles from him.

This isn't funny! We're getting attention from the guests!... I glared at him Simon but this guy maybe doesn't know what stop means.

I was about to smack his hands were pinching my cheeks when my eyes landed on the tables where Bella and her friends were sitting.

They are glancing at us while murmuring something every time they glance in our direction. Those girls were even glaring at me.

" What the f**k, Simon!" I madly smack his hands and this time he let me go.

The nerve of this guy!

" I'm sorry, sorry KC, you're just so adorable and very beautiful at the same time. I'm really sorry I just carried away," He said. But by just looking at him, he doesn't look like he was sorry because he's still not yet done with his chuckles while staring at me!

I gave him a dagger look, he saw that and he smiles at me cutely. Oh, he's not cute for me though, maybe for Crisha but not for me. Viel is more...ah, cute and hot.

I suddenly looked in Viel's direction again and this time I caught him staring back which made me almost gasp, It seems like they were not down discussing something yet with those businessmen but he was looking here!

He's frowning.

Okay? What's wrong with him?

I felt Simon poke my cheek once again to get my attention. I turned to glare at him and he just cackles.

"Do you want me to kick your ass off here?!" I hissed at him.

And the i***t once again chuckles as if he finds me very funny.

" You're so adorable and feisty KC, I haven't seen you for months, Is it bad to miss you?" He said while wiggling his brows at me.

I rolled my eyes at Simon and chuckle for a while, I bet if he says that to my best friend I am sure her face will turn into a red tomato.

He's very likely compared to his cousin Viel who's very serious and has a no-nonsense approach attitude, and is always in po-faced.

Speaking to Viel, I shrugged when I saw his expression while he was looking on our way, he was looking grumpy and seemed greeting his teeth. Even from afar, I could notice his perfect angle jaw clenching.

What the f**k is his problem this time?

It's not that you're not used to seeing him like that, Karina. (Mocked by my inner voice at me).

I ate my dessert and Simon joined me when he get his own, I didn't mind other girls glancing in our way including Bella and her friends.

Insecure.

"How are you KC?"

Simon opened up something to talk about, I arched my brows at him and he chuckled.

" I'm good, " I replied and sip on my juice.

" I see, that's good." He said while nodding.

I first met Simon I'm already disliking him, maybe he's just too playful and he's like a walking playboy. That's my first impression of him. Though right now, I don't mind any of that though, besides I need a companion right now or else I will end up yawning here because of boredom. He's doing me a favor though.

He asked me a few questions and I answer them shortly, I didn't ask anything about him, I'm not in the mood to scrutinize someone tonight.

"Oh, wait you have..." Simon didn't finish his words as he suddenly leaned toward me this is the second time and I didn't expect it again.

I felt his thumb and wiped something in the corner of my upper lips. I pursed my lips in irritation. He doesn't have to do that!

I heard murmurs but I didn't mind it before I could shove Simon's hands on me...

A baritone lethal voice called my name, it was so deep.

" Karina."

My body almost shivers from the coldness of Veil's voice coming from my back. It sounds like I did something wrong again.

I frowned and shook my head again. Whatever.

"Hey, there cousin." Simon.

Before I could turn to look at Viel, Simon stood up and did a fist bump with Viel.

" Hey," Viel said low and lazily.

"I just arrive, sorry I'm a bit late, I just deal with something so that's why," Simon said to Viel.

Oh, that's why I didn't see him earlier.

" I'm sure, you two already knew each other right?" Simon followed up question while he looked at me and his cousin.

I simply nodded.

" Yeah," Viel.

"Uh-huh," Simon smile before he looks at me again.

Viel was standing beside our table, I saw Bella from afar and she was glaring at me, aww poor. She's probably jealous since it's very obvious she fancies Viel.

" You're so Beautiful KC," I glance back at Simon when he shamelessly stares at me and says that while Viel was still standing beside our table. I don't even know why he's standing here beside me though, probably he has something to discuss with Simon who's still busy flirting with me.

" Last one," Simon uttered and without a warning, he pinched both of my cheeks again and I am sure it's now very bloody red.

I was glaring and pushing his filthy hands away,

This playful guy is getting on my nerves, what does he think about my cheeks? Some kind of stress balls?!

" Simon, hands off."

I saw Viel's large hands push Simon's hands from me.

I never thought he'll do that. Simon raised his both hands while chuckling as he mouthed 'cute' while looking at me.

Opposite to Viel's reaction, because his thick brows almost met while his eyes were glued on my cheeks, he probably saw the redness on it.

" Let's go, Karina." Viel.

I was stunned for a second and looked at Simon who just smiled at me and nodded as if he'll know that I will excuse myself.

I stood up when this frosty man in front of me raised his thick brows as if I'm making him wait too long.

Well, I thought he has something to talk about with his cousin.
