ALEX WAKES UP IN THE morning to find Liam thoroughly wrapped around him, their legs tangled and Liam’s arm hooked around Alex’s side. Alex moves gently as he can to brush Liam’s curls out of his own eyes. Liam’s face scrunches up but then smooths, and he rolls a little closer to Alex before his breathing evens out again. Being here with Liam is lovely, but it’s also a little melancholy. It feels like a terribly solemn privilege to be able to hold him like this when their relationship is so not about them being lovers.
As sweet and sad as this is, though, certain rules of human biology are always in play. Liam is a restless sleeper and if either of them moves wrong things are going to get very awkward very quickly. Given what Liam’s asked of him for today, what Alex has promised Paul,
