“What?” Kira demanded as she whirled toward Trevor with a glare. How could he forget to mention something as important as Rob calling about the hard drive?
Trevor raised his hands in a warding gesture. “He tried calling you too, but you were out like a light, so he called me instead.” He puffed out his chest. “Anyway, he said he had hacked the files—‘the mother lode,’ he called it. Fake IDs—including the one that was used for the security company back when you were abducted—bank transfer records, the whole nine.”
Kira’s legs suddenly gave way. She found herself sitting down hard on the edge of the bed. The thin mattress didn’t do much to absorb the shock.
