23 Ginette Waters sat in the sun room that overlooked the estate’s back gardens and sipped at a glass of iced tea. It was tart and chilled almost to the point of becoming a slushie, just the way she preferred it. She smoothed the lap of her tailored dress pants before running her hand through her hair. She took a deep breath of the flower-scented air drifting through a nearby open window. Even in November, her gardeners had coaxed some of her favorites to bloom. Kira would be here soon.
