“Make sure you park in the shade,” Kira said to Nick as he pulled through the large, metal gate as it swung open on silent, automated hinges.
Her heart seemed to be beating faster than usual. She doubted it was just the excess caffeine.
Ginette had let them in. She couldn’t know for certain that Kira was with Nick. Nick had made sure to lean in close to the security camera through the window of his car as he had pulled up to fill it with his frame.
But Ginette had to be suspicious.
Was Walter home? Kira bit her lip. The presence of Ginette’s adopted father would complicate matters. Ginette would be far more cautious with him there.
