Raymond Voss, he was tall, about 6:9. he possessed brown, silky hair, matching his eyes. It was a very important day to him and so he dressed the part. His brown tuxedo was well tailored, on his hand was a bouquet of rose flowers. It was his wedding day and he had shown up with his family. His brother Raphael Voss, his mother Vivian Voss and his father Donald Voss were all present at the location. Raymond was marrying the love of his life, Rachel Matthews. Raymond's father was the mafia leader to one of new york's leading drug cartel. But when growing up, faced with the enormous responsibility of being the first son to the leader of a mafia legacy, Raymond did not want to be a part of his father's business. And so, with the assistance of Rachel matthews, his soon to be wife, they started a multimillion dollar mass media House where they chose to name Saturn. Saturn soon became the most watched and most talked about media house, which carried important news and information. It made both Raymond and his wife to be, Rachel very famous and rich. After almost two years of dating, Raymond decided to seal the deal and to marry the woman that he believed made him who he was. He could not wait to start a family with her, he was fully prepared. While he waited at the altar, his mind was clouded with his new plans after the wedding. Raymond had a well thought out plan. Firstly, they would move into a eight hundred thousand dollar house, much bigger than the one they previously had. And then Raymond would present the new suzuki car he had already bought for Rachel. Then, she would get to pick anywhere in the world for their honey moon. Raymond dared not to think about work on his wedding day, even though he was tempted to. He could not wait to make Rachel the happiest woman alive, for he loved her very much. With Rachel's quick witted and smart spirit, they had built a very successful business. Their relationship had been perfect, perfect communication, splendid s*x and beautiful companionship. As Raymond stood lost in thoughts and waiting for his bride, his brother, Raphael pinched him. “ Stella is still not here. “ Raphael began. He knew when to be emotional, only when it benefited the occasion. Raymond wasn't one to let his emotions get into the way of business. And so when Stella proposed a to add an extra layer to Saturn by making food and crops a part of the business, thus being another share holder, Raymond vehemently refused. Rachel had told him that it was his father's plot to smuggle illegal business into Saturn. Raphael retreated and went back to to his standing position as they all waited for the bride to be to arrive. But after two hours of waiting for Rachel, people began to be worried. Faces had started to turn to anxiety and lips had began to talk. Raymond had resulted to pacing as he had dailed Rachel's number but she was not answering the call. Raymond's family grew worried and impatient that his mother and father approached him at the altar. “ And what is this annoying delay Raymond? Is something wrong with your wife? “ Donald, Raymond's father asked. He was angry as he spoke. “ How dare she delay our family like this? Has she forgotten who we are? “ Vivian, Raymond's mother followed. Raymond couldn't respond, he was way too worried to speak. “ Have you tried contacting the family? “ Donald asked. Raphael came to them, he had been in a corner trying to connect to Rachel's family, all to no avail. “ I have tried, but no one seems to be picking. “ “ Aarghh! “ Raymond screamed, throwing his smartphone viciously to the ground and smashing it in pieces. He felt as though his whole world was falling apart, and as the crowd went into a hysteric confusion, Raymond was fidgeting out of control. What was happening? Had Rachel somehow gotten into a problem while on her way? Or worse, did she get into an accident? Maybe that was why no one from her family was answering their phone. “ Brother calm down_ “ How can I calm down? This is horrible. Call them one more time Raphael. “ “ I left business to be here son, not to face this huge embarrassment. “ Donald said scrutinizing the crowd. “ People would not stop talking. “ Vivian added. “ Nothing has… Nothing has happened, they will be here soon… I promise. “ Panic Raymond tried to tell his parents. Soon, a man appeared at the foot of the entrance door. All eyes where on the man. Raymond recognised him as Rachel's elder brother Tommy. The moment Raymond saw him, he ran towards him. “ Stay where you are Mr voss. “ Tommy stopped Raymond before he could get to where he was. “ What is happening? We have been trying to call your family but no one is picking up? Where is Rachel? “ Raymond immediately probed. Tommy boldly placed both his hands inside his pockets, “ I suggest you listen to me Raymond, what I am about to tell you, I Will not repeat myself again. “ Raymond arched a perplexed brow, “ What is happening? “ “ I am afraid this wedding would not continue. “ The entire crowd broke into a jaw dropping shock that the environment went silent. No one spoke but glared at Tommy. “ Yes, you heard right. So you may leave whenever you want. “ Tommy turned to exit. “ I don't understand what you mean? “ Raymond was lost. “ You are not marrying Rachel today, the wedding has been called off. “ The information reached Raymond harshly. He could hear his heart thud loudly, as it cut trenchantly into two. His feet stuck to the ground as he could not move, or even speak. “ Excuse me, there must be some sort of mistake. What do you mean by the wedding had been called off? We have been waiting for hours, how come there was no information until now? “ Raphael asked. “ Well I do apologize for that, my entire family needed time to process the news. Do not waste more time waiting. “ “ Where… is Rachel? This can't be right, Rachel would not call off the wedding. “ “ The wedding is called off. “ Tommy replied and exited without another word. “ Where is she! “ Raymond yelled from behind, but Tommy was long gone to reply him. Little by little, the crowd of people reduced to just Raymond's family. Raymond laid faced up on the bare ground, still in shock as to what happened earlier. He was caught up in disbelief and was still waiting for Rachel to show up. He believed strongly that she would. Donald walked up to him, “ Let us leave, there is not wedding ceremony today. “ “ No, no, I cannot leave. “ Raymond said. “ Son, “ Vivian called, “ If she wanted to come, she would have arrived already. “ “ There is no way Rachel would break off the wedding without letting me know, I know her very well. She is on her way here. “ He didn't realize how hysterical he sounded. Raphael knelt down beside him and laid his hand on his shoulder, “ Brother, I don't think she's coming. Let us leave. “ “ No! “ He slapped Raphael's hand off him, “ She is on her way here! “ Raymond yelled. “ Then we would leave without you then. “ Vivian replied. “ Look at you, what a bloody disgrace you are. You went from being the heir to a legacy to being a foolish cunt abandoned at the altar. Maybe after today, you will change your mind and return back to the family business. “ Donald told his son and left with his wife. “ I'm sorry brother. “ Raphael also said and exited. Raymond had tears dropping from the side of his eyes as he still laid on the floor, waiting for Rachel to arrive. He had tried calling her nonstop until his phone was red. He tried so long and hard to figure out what was happening with his fiance Rachel. What Tommy revealed a while ago didn't stop replaying in his head and while he labored to come to terms with the possibility of what Tommy said, he Still was unable to believe it. Why would she abandon him at the altar out of the blue? It was an unexpected move that it shocked him. Not only was she his wife to be, they shared a business together, they were work partners. And if they are not married, what would be the outcome of Saturn? Was Rachel trying to take the business from him, or was it merely because she had found someone better than him. That was impossible because he didn't believe that there was anyone better than him. Heck, Raymond didn't believe that Rachel was capable of doing both! HE THOUGHT HE KNEW HER. It was dark, at about 8:30 pm and his phone was about to get off, he sent her a final voice message while crying. “ Hey honey, my love. It was supposed to be our wedding today and you didn't show up. I don't believe what Tommy had said, I want to hear it from you myself. Please let us meet and discuss this. “ He was able to send it before his phone went off.
