Raymond returns to the mafia

Raymond was at work that morning, and his thoughts were all about his marriage and how his family would take the news. He didn't mind as he planned to tell them that he was in need of a life partner and had chosen the woman of his choice. He knew that there was no way he would pull a stunt and his family would not know. When he thought about zoey, all he could vary was her very sexy body and he wanted to know what she tasted like. Maybe their fake marriage wasn't about his thirst for revenge, maybe there was now something else added.

There was a knock on his door, Gideon from the publishing department came to see him.

“ The manuscript is good, I suppose you like it? “ Raymond said in expectancy.

“ I'm sorry boss, it may be good, but it isn't what we want right now. “ Gideon replied.

“ What? “ Raymond was shocked, “ Why is that? “

“ My team thought that the conflict is too flat. And the department is in need of something up and running. “

Raymond was disappointed, he personally thought that her book was good. Or was he wrong?

“ Fine, you may leave. “ He told him.

Zoey had thought to get herself some good looking clothes for when she and Raymond see themselves. She wanted to appear good and play the part. When she got to the shop, she saw all the workers on their knees. The shop also had multiple security guards that were armed. She was surprised to see the scene that she walked up to one of the workers.

“ What is happening here? “ she asked the lady.

The lady was in tears and so she could not talk.

“ Hello ma'am, let me help you stand. “ she assisted the lady is getting to her feet. “ What happened here? “

“ A customer, she forced us all to kneel. “

Just then, a silvered haired woman came with a cane in her hand.

“ For that rude disrespect to me, I'll have you all disciplined. “ it was Rachel speaking.

Zoey was soon face to face with rachel but she didn't know who she was.

“ Lie down. “ Rachel commanded.

All of them who knelt were so terrified of her that they began to lay one by one.

“ Wait a second, “ Zoey interfered, “ What do you think you're doing? You're just a customer, you have no right to brutalise these people. “

“ And who are you? “ Rachel asked with a fearful scorn.

“ A customer, “ She turned to everyone who laid, “ Stand up and get back to business. “

“ Do you know who I am? “

“ Who you are doesn't matter, you can't treat people this way. “

“ I purchase things worth millions from this shop and you? How much are you worth? “

Zoey had only 500 dollars to spend, “ If this shop is for only expensive f***s like you then there wouldn't be cheap clothes, now wouldn't there? “

Rachel slapped zoey hard on the face, “ I will show you who is boss, you must not have heard of me. “ Rachel turned to her security team, “ hold her! “ And they all obeyed.

Zoey was soon held tightly to a stand, she tried struggling from the hold but it was all to no avail.

“ Let me go! “ Zoey yelled.

“ I'm about to teach you a lesson. “

Rachel began to whip zoey hard on her neck with the cane. While zoey screamed in pain, the security held her in place. Rachel paid no mind to Zoey's screams until she had beaten her for a total of 30 times. Zoey was bleeding from her neck and some cane went into her arm.

“ Next time, you will learn to mind your business. “

Zoey cried in pain.

“ Throw her out of the store! “ Rachel ordered her security and once again, they obeyed.

Rachel showed up in Saturn later that day, just in time for a work meeting. Everyone that worked in important segment in Saturn had showed up.

“ As the year draws to an end, I would like for this company to have some changes. “ As Raymond spoke, he stared at Rachel. “ Rachel i want your screen time to be replaced with another reporter. You will too busy handling other matters and so_

“ You are not serious, what about your screen time? “

Raymond stared around, he assumed that everyone present had heard of his brutal breakup with rachel. “ you still want to share screentime with me? I thought you abhore me by now. “

“ I don't abhore you, and I am not giving my screen time to any other reporter. “

“ Moving on, “ Raymond continued, “ There would be more attention given to our crimes unit, we have seen that covering crime news never gets stale. More crime reporters would be hired_

“ I will handle that. “ Rachel jumped in on him.

“ Would you please allow me to finish? “ Raymond stared at his workers who had all began noticing Rachel's strange behaviour towards him, “ We are in public. And besides, news is my sector, you handle ads and publications unit. “

“ I can be wherever I want, and I choose to delve into the crime sector, you can't stop me. “

Raymond's brows furrowed, he had a lot to say to Rachel, but because of the company they had, he chose to swallow his words. Just as he was about to continue, the speakers in the entire building blared on and a voice recording was heard by all.

To Raymond's surprise it was the recording of the call he had with his father back at the restaurant he met with zoey. He was in the bathroom at the time of the call. “ “ It is not about joining the legacy father, it is about diablo's death. Something doesn't seem right about his death to me and that is all. I told you that I am not about to allow Saturn to turn into your workhouse. If you want to speak about diablo though, let me know. “

Raymond dropped to the ground in utter shock as his voice was heard by everyone present in Saturn, abandoning the meeting, he ran outside the room and into the main hall. Some of the workers had stopped working just so they could process what they had heard, others where already gossiping about the recording. Raymond didn't know what to think or feel, he felt as though the ground should open up and swallow him. The call was supposed to be a private moment with his father and no one should have heard it. His father was a drug lord and a mafia, if people place two and two together they would figure it out. And it would cause serious problem for him. The recording was placed on repeat.

“ Who placed that on? “ His voice roared the entire building, “ Who place it on! “ He asked again. And when there was no replies, he ran to the electronic room to see for himself. When he got there, he saw the electronic team struggling to place the recording off.

“ What is happening? “ Raymond jumped on one of the seats and began to operate the computer.

“ Sir we don't know how that happened, but it just blared out of control. “

Raymond managed to get the recording off.

He returned back to the main hall and still saw people talk, they were having suspicions already. “ Get back to work all of you! “ he yelled.

Rachel took his hands and walked him back into the room where they had the meeting. “ Leave, everyone. “ she told them. And they obeyed.

“ Your father is still troubling you about returning back to the legacy? “ Rachel asked.

“ Is that what you should ask? How the hell did that recording play? “

“ Maybe you should ask Raphael for help, he is always cleaning up your messes anyway. “ She hissed.

Raymond tiredly placed his hands on his waist as he pondered deeply, was that one of his father's ploys to get him back in the legacy?

“ What are you thinking about? “

Raymond stared at the woman whom he once shared his secrets with, “ I am suspecting my father for this, he may be trying to conjure me to join. “

“ This is a harsh way to handle it. “

“ You know how he is. “ He locked eyes with her, “ I miss us Rachel. “

“ There is no us, and focus on the issue at hand. “

Raymond forgot about his ongoing rift with rachel at that moment, “ What do you think i should do? “ he needed Rachel's master thought for his actions.

“ Join, be a boss just like your brother Raphael. “

In retrospect, the action that just transpired had angered Raymond. And that was because he wasn't expecting such a brutal circumstance. The entire Saturn was now in his business. Rachel patted his hands and disappeared from the room. But unbeknownst to Raymond, she wasn't fully gone. She had hidden at the front of the door and eavesdropped on Raymond. After a short thought process, Raymond dailed his father's number and when Donald answered the call, Raymond said, “ No need for long talk father, I'm joining back into the legacy. “

As he ended the call, he thought more of the leaked recording situation, and one name came to mind, Zoey Hart. He was with her that day, maybe she had answers to give to him.
