Jacob and I spent that evening searching around for Chirpy and Kero again. It was really hard though. Every time I heard or saw a small animal run by, I would chase after it. And every time Jacob heard the flapping of wings or tweets, he would chase after that. It seemed impossible, but of course, we wouldn’t give up.
They had to be here somewhere… where could they go? I couldn’t imagine Kero leaving for good. I couldn’t imagine a life without one of my best friends.
I don’t know why but something gave me the feeling that they were around here somewhere. Near the fountain. That’s why I keep coming here to look, because of that feeling inside of me.
