Beginning of Investigation.
The next morning no one knows what has happened with the children and about any of the incident that has happened the previous night. The daily household work begins. Mr. Singhania is the first person to wake up as usual. Then he has morning tea sitting in the lawn and hearing the sweet chirping of the birds and their beautiful song, mesmerized by the sweet scent of the flowers. The morning goes on as normal as other days. The house staff is doing their normal work and preparing breakfast for the entire family. Mrs. Singhania wakes up a bit late as she was very much tired due to the whole day visits to the neighborhood which is pretty much exhausting for her as she is not used to it a lot. Thereafter she does her yoga which she does not miss even a day even if she wakes up late or feels exhausted. According to her, yoga makes her feel good and refreshed and all her exhaustion vanishes like magic.
Now, slowly the morning passed by and both the Singhania couple have finished their morning curriculum. They have come down to the dining room and are having a daily conversation among themselves and they don’t notice that their son and daughter are missing. Mrs. Singhania thought that the previous day experience has made them too much exhaust, so they are sleeping in their room and hence are not able to wake up early today. p**n. Therefore Mrs. Singhania decides to go to their room and wake them up and brings them for breakfast. When she goes up she first enters Rahul's room but she can not find him there. It does not astound her as Rahul frequently goes to Neelam's room and sleep with her. Thereafter, she goes to her daughter Neelam's room but she finds neither of them sleeping there. This establishes a sense of urgency in her behavior and her mind starts filling with frail and irresolute thoughts.
When Mr. Singhania comes to know that their children are not present in their room he gets a little bit of startled, as it is too early in the morning and they never get out without telling their parents. So, he called for the security guards and asks them whether they have seen any of the brothers or sisters get out of the house or not. After a pause their reply in negative that they don’t see anyone goes out of the house as they are sitting next to the gate all night. Subsequently, Mr. Singhania orders them to find near the house and orders the servants to look inside the house properly and not leave any corner of the house untouched. Mr. Singhania himself goes out of the house with one of the guards to search for them in the neighborhood. The search continues for the whole day. No corner of the house is left untouched from the kitchen, bedrooms, terrace to the lawn, Riverside, and garden, from the neighborhood to the nearby village and also the servant quarters but they can be found nowhere and no trace of them is visible. In this way, the entire day passes by and everyone returns to the bungalow with no news of the Singhania offspring.
The night passed by but no one receives any news of the children. So, the next morning the couple decides to take the help of the police. As Mr. Singhania is a well-known businessman he has many friends all over the country and several connections. The nearest police station is located in the district of Shimla which is about six kilometers away from the place where they live. So, he calls one of his friends for help who is a higher-level official in Himachal police, for help. The officer promised to help him to the extent he can and investigate the matter himself. It is nearly afternoon when the officer along with other cops reaches the desired location at Megh Gang.
The name of the person is Yashraj Sharma. He has come there with three other cops who know the area to a greater extent as they are the people who used to reside in the nearby village and now have joined the police force. All of them have a good physique and a well-maintained body which affirms that they are accustomed to regular exercise and Yoga to maintain their health. They are greeted by the Singhania couple and then they get inside the house. They sit in the living room and are given a brief explanation and portrayal of the entire incident by the family to the police officers. After the discussion is over Mrs. Singhania offers them to have lunch with them which the officer can’t refuse to.
After having lunch, the investigation begins. The team of four officers is divided into two separate teams of two cops each. One team goes to the neighborhood and the village in search of the children and collect any information about the teenagers. The other team which is comprised of Yashraj and the other cop decides to examine the house and its surroundings.
First, they start in Rahul's room. The room is well decorated and there is no sign of any fighting or clash which is visible in the room. Then, they go to Neelam's room which is also in good condition and there is no sign of any quarrel and everything looks in its place. The officers don’t find any evidence in any of the rooms of the Singhania children. Subsequently, they take note of the entire house going to each and every place and every corner of the house. Finally, they asked about the room which is closed and a lock is hanging out of it. The key is only with the caretaker of the bungalow, the police officers called for the caretaker and asks him to open the door. The room is like a storeroom with only a few furniture presents there, most of the furniture is broken. The furniture present there belongs to the owner of the house who no more stays here, and gives his house in rent. The furniture present there includes a bookshelf, a sofa, two-three old chairs. The most attractive of them is the painting of the statute attached to a wall and nothing else is present in that wall no furniture is kept near the wall. The painting looks in good condition and so the officers felt strange why it’s kept in this room. Finding no other important stuff or evidence they go out of the room.
After examining the entire house from top to bottom and each and every corner they go out of the bungalow. When they are looking around the house and its surroundings the attention of the cops is drawn by an imprint of a shoe. They take the picture of it and the mark of the shoe is collected. By looking to the impression it looks like the size of the shoe is 9 inches with some spikes attached to the soul of the shoe. They realize that it may be the shoe to the person who was trying to climb into the bungalow the previous night. They find no other evidence in the house or outside except the shoe marks.
As it is getting dark the chief official Yashraj Sharma decides to go to the police station and submit the evidence they have collected from outside the house. He wants to check in their criminal records if the evidence matches with anybody or not. The other team of two cops arrived when they are about to leave the place. They quickly get inside the car and leave the bungalow and go towards the nearby police station in the district of Shimla. Before leaving the chief officer among them orders that no one shall leave the bungalow without the permission of the police and if anyone dares to disobey his orders he will be strictly punished and will be taken under police custody.
