*Faith* I'm not nervous. But there is a measure of anticipation thrumming through me as I stand in the open doorway, watching the rain pound the ground, listening to it hammer out a steady staccato beat on the roof. It's been years since I have looked forward to spending time alone with a man… I don't count last night because we were together as friends. I have a feeling tonight is going to be a little different. The way his eyes warmed when he told me he was making plans for us… and that Dee would be staying with my mother… made me smile for the remainder of the day. While I have found myself nervous around other men, not wanting to be alone with them, I have never had the same reaction when it comes to Cooper, except when he took me by surprise in the river.
