Chapter 1: Betrayal & Retribution
Her eyes glowed in the dark surveying her next prey, the one lucky enough to be her next victim. The light flickers as she is sitting patienly lying in wait for that one deer that will dare step near the muddy water to have a drink, even if it’s just a sip. All that matters is; they draw near to the water. The silence was loud, louder than the noise of pleasure coming from the inner room, but still she lied in wait. Dimitri waited, just as she had waited for a year. Once the noise ended and the two shamless adults walked right into the muddy water. “Did you have fun?” Her voice echoed in the dark, at once the light came on, and there was their jaws to the ground. Sweats dripping from their fore heads. “I kinda like the dark better!” Dimitri softly said, the lighter in her hands going of at the end of her sentence. Yet they stood motionless, wondering how she got in. Cold shivers ran down their spine and their feets went ice like snow. “I like the dark better!” This time her roar could be heard ten houses away, even the ceilings shook in terror. Immediately the light went off, the two adults reached for one another, in hopes that what they feared most wouldn’t happen. “How did you get in?” Collin stuttered as he watched his girlfriend be the devil’s spawn. He had never seen her like that. In fact she was the sweetest and most understanding person he had met and yet.. “Question… How do I answer that Collin, maybe she can put in a word for me. I am too stunned to speak at the moment!” Dimitri’s voice return to the soft, saltry tone laced with mild sarcasm, her dead gaze now on the half naked woman Collin had decided to hit with. Earlier that day she had gotten off work, a normal day just every other mentally draining day as Vetinirerian, seeing pets die made it sick for Dimitri. Today was the day where the rumors she had heard would be confirmed. Rumors of how Collin was a loose dog and somehow people thought it was cool enough to think Dimitri couldn’t keep her man, More like keeping a rabid dog on a leash. “I.. it;s not what you think Dimitri . We were just.!” The other lady shook in fear that her words barely made it out of her tongue. “If it were not for the kind of good, responsible person that I am, I mean i’m the sweetest person I know. I would have desired your tongue to be an antigue for my pets, but… Dimitri rises to her full height, causing the two to take a step back, but soon they would run out of luck and their backs hitting the wall. “Why are you running? Come on, we are family now. Besides we have to be calm and friendly to welcome Junior Collin to the family, don’t you think!” Dimitri grinned, her eyes barely blinking. Like a predator. Dimitri gently grazes her hands on Solana’s tummy gently feeling the baby bump. “You couldn’t even hide it Collin, right here, right under my nose!” Dimitri’s grin slowly dissipates, leaving on her face pure hatred. “I.. I’m sorry I JUST.. Slowly she walks over to him, the familair scent of his perfume filling her nostrils now. They once smelled sweet but now they smell like death. “You humans are just so ungrateful!” She whispered her eyes consuming him in ways he never thought was possible. A deep silence enveloped the room once again, their hearts racing like a tireless horse. “But it’s good at least now you have an unborn child already!” “Leave my child out of this, leave Solana out of this too, face me Dimitri, I’m ready to pay the price.” Collin pulled a brave-up card. A huge smile crept on Dimitri’s face, the cards playing according to how she had envisioned it. They were now starting to play her own game. “Now that’s what I’m talking about babyyy, now that’s how you be a man!” She twriled her hair not moving an inch from the high tight puff she put it in. “What do you want with me, as long as you leave them out of it!” Collin insisted. Dimitri rushes off to the counter and pulls out a bottle of red wine from the sellar, retrieving three glasses for each of them. “Wine, let’s start with wine!” ONE YEAR AGO! The glass wine fell off her hand as the words rolled out of her mouth. “You don’t need a mate, is that what you are saying?” Willow , Dimtri’s best friend panicked realising the matter was more serious than she had thought. At this point Dimitri would be dying , single, unscathed and untouched. “Come on you will hurt yourself!” Dimitri rushes off to the where willow stood, checking for any injuries. Willow shakes her off violently, reaslising Dimitri was about to change the topic for the hundreth time. “Your tricks won’t work on me!” Willow snapped. “I never run out of them!” Dimitri smiled sheepishly. And they had indeed worked, the discussion ended being about work and basically anything apart from Dimitri’s miserably single life. To Willow; living life with that one person is the best and the goal, to Dimtri… Alone is better! But suddenly things changed for Dimitri and suddenly she becomes desperate for a partner, even more than Willow was. And like that she made a pact with Willow to get herself a mate within one year but if she didn’t Willow would take Shortly after, Collin walks in like the answered prayer, until he wasn’t. Dimitri slowly pours the wine into the glass as they all sat in the dark barely lit with the lapstand peeping from the corner of the room. “All this for soemone you wish to kill. You don’t have to say it Dimitri I know you want to end me, and it’s fine just leave them out of it!” Dimitri’s jaws was to the floor as the words rolled out of his lips. “If I thought of you as anything it’s certainly not a coward!” Dimiri laughs sipping on her wine. “Then straight to it, what do you want?” Collin snapped, his tension rising unsure of what this woman had up her sleeves. He just wanted it over with. Everything was awkwardly calm for the atmosphere of someone who got caught cheating on ther beloved partner. “You see Collin, death is the easiest way out to me, to avoid being gazed on by the reality AND HARSH TRUTHS. I have soemthing better for you, love!” “Make a deal with me, Collin!” “Get on with it!” Dimitri reaches for her bag and pulls out an old photo, staring at it for a long time that one could tell whoever was in the picture caused her entire life to be tainted one way or the other. “Solana, can I have a moment with Collin?” She asked barely looking at her. At first she hesitated but suddenly the sound of a slap on her face made her understand she meant business. Collin pulls Solana in his hands, checking if she was hurt. “Don’t you ever for the rest of your time here disobey my orders, understood?” Dimitri aimed to drive it right into her, and hurriedly she steps out of the room, leaving Collin fuming and impatient. “Why did.. “Shut up!” She commanded. Reluctantly he obeyed, not because he was guilty of all charges but because he understood who he was up against. A mere human up against An Alpha. Something he had to keep a secret for the entirety of their relationship. Sometimes he wondered why such power was given to her, but he understood she was worth it. Dimitri hands over the picture to Collin. “Find Him!” Dimitri stated. “Find him? What am I? A Cop?!” Collin raged his fist clenchhing and unclenching , “What is wrong with you Dimitri, you think you are God? What’s up with all these theatrics?’ Collin snapped. But Dimitri kept calm staring right into his eyes, pity fell on her face for him. “He must have an hard time being a soon-to-be dad, poor thing!” Dimitri thought. “If you are a female Alpha so? Listen if really you are as powerful as people say you are tell me how pained you are to see how Solana is better than you in all ways!” Instantly the pity on her face disappears, replaced with rage. She draws her claws and gives him a strike on the face. Collin staggers back the reality of his words hitting him. “How dare you drop his picture you must be out of your mind!” Dimitri rushes to the floor picking up the picture and gazing at it lovingly. Surprised, stunned, whatever! Collin was everything at this point. His face bled his own blood covering his vision. “Here, let’s try this again. Find him, once you do. Call me!” Shakingly he takes the picture paying it more attention than ever. “Good boy!” She smiles. He watched her pack her bag and started to head out. As she moved she took in every thing in the house one more time, the memories of his fake love flooding her memory. “And just to remind you Collin, Solana isn’t better than me, neither am I better than her or anyone. I am me, she is her. All you just wanted was for your selfish desires to be explored, that says more about you than the lady standing right in front of you. Have a long life of fighting the battle, whcih is yourself!” Dimitri walks right that door knowing she had lost the pact she made with Willow not someone but a pact and that being said. She was set to meet her new mate in the next few hours, as agreed. “Humans!”
