Lyra's POV
Our shifts ended, it was time to finally head home. Kira and I walked home together this time, her sister remained back to finish her work, she had been slow and didn't finish most of her work earlier.
“Are you sure you should leave her behind? I thought you two would go home together.” I asked Kira as we exited the supermarket.
She scoffed, “Who cares about that low life. She can do whatever she wants. We actually never go home together, I just see her arrive whenever she wants. She is old enough too.” Kira replied.
I couldn't tell if this was normal for her or she was just keen on hearing more of what I had to tell her. Kira was pretty invested in the story, mainly because it involved the Rourke family.
