The only thing in my mind was what am I going to do with this information,who

would understand?.. Questions came flooding into my mind all at once and I couldn't figure out any solution because my mind was all bogged up.

Sandy always knew she was different,not because she was a little taller than any average woman no!,she had that factor that made her stand out in a crowd.Her hair was always neat, flawless skin and she had a great fashion sense,when she walked across the room you just couldn't help but notice her,she was really beautiful.She had been well educated her dad had made sure of that and after high school she had joined a major law firm in the big city.She had made name for herself and she loved her independence.She had made plans to marry late in her 30's or so she thought.

One night after a drinking spree with her best friend Mary they decide to drive down the lake and go skinny dipping,both ladies could barely walk but somehow they managed to drive the car and get to the edge of the road and from there they followed a little path which led them down to the lake.Mary already in her underwear stood very close to the water and called for Sandy to join her

Mary~"come on Sandy don't be scared! "

Sandy~"I never said I was afraid I just think it's not safe for us to be here alone..."

Mary was already knee deep in the water shouting at the top of her voice

Mary~"Sandy come on!"

"Alright then,just so you know I am not afraid "she said although she felt a cold shiver down her spine,she threw her clothes off and ran to join Mary.

The water was cold at first when she stepped in but she she didn't mind she wanted to let go and feel this moment.Suddenly she felt an urgent pull,like something was pulling her deeper into the water,Mary began swimming behind her trying to keep up but Sandy kept going.

Mary~"Sandy,you going too far let's go back!",she shouted but Sandy seemed to be in her own zone, something seemed to have taken over her body and mind.Mary rushed to try and pull her friend back but her efforts were futile Sandy had become as rigid as a log,her eyes had become as big as slug balls.Sandy sank beneath the water deeper and deeper she seemed to go Mary couldn't hold her breath any longer so she came back up out of the water

'Sandy!!'she screamed but her voice wasn't loud enough.She felt helpless she couldn't save her friend or maybe she was regretting ever suggesting the idea to go skinny dipping in the first place.She and Sandy had known each other since kindergarten,Sandy had always been the cheaky one,always the one starting the fights I guess you can say she was a bad apple.All through highschool she had done many mischiefs but she had gotten away with it mostly because of her beauty.Mary had never in her life met known someone as daring and brave as Sandy,but today what she saw scared her to death,her friend was on the brink of death if she didn't do something real quick.Mary calculated that Sand had been under water for at least 30 minutes and had not at one time since ,come up for some air!.This was becoming like a horror movie too fast for Mary.

She had 2 options which she weighed in her head either, call the police for help or just leave Sandy and pretend she hadn't seen her at all.She came out of the water took her clothes and headed up to the main road,she realised that she had the car keys in her jeans and it was a very huge relief.She hopped into the car and sped off-she didn't look back at all!.

Sandy awoke her eyes felt like she had been asleep for a week or so and they were itching,it took a while for her vision to become clearer.She looked around she was sleeping on a seaweed bed and on her left side there was a little side table,she tried to get up but her body felt very weak.She seemed to be in some sort of cave or some deep hole and this puzzled her,she was still in her panties and her bra.A man came in and when he realised she was awake he seemed somewhat pleased.

Man~"I am glad you are awake Sandy,my name is Tate and I am a merman.

Sand~"...a mer..what!!,how did I even get here?!"

Tate~"I brought you here,you are my queen".He spoke so proudly and with such command in his tone and Sandy guessed that he must be of Nobel background and he was used to having his way.

Sandy~"I don't know you,how can you just pick someone randomly and assume they would just want to marry you?,well guess what ..I am not interested."

Tate~"I know you are not,but you soon will it's a matter of time.I have been waiting for you all my life I can wait a little longer."

Sandy~"How dare you kidnapped me!!,are you some kind of psycho?!.I will have you arrested just let me go and we can both put this behind us"

Tate~"I can let you go,but just I just need 3 days with you and l will take you back up.You are deep underneath the ocean water and this is my kingdom,soon it will be yours too".

Sandy~"what!,how did I get here,how come I can breathe fine.I will not be your wife-you are mentally disturbed,how can you just pick someone from out of the blue and want to make them your wife?"

Tate~"Well,it's a long story"

Sandy-"Well I am already here aren't I,might as well explain!"

Tate-"Well when I was young my Father told me I was special and that I would marry a girl from above,and when I turned 18 I saw you in my dreams everyday and sometimes I would come up out of the water and see you but you would see me.I would spent days following you,watching you.Remember on your 21st birthday - I was there I left you a gift I see you are wearing it right now!."

Sandy had a neckchain that had a a stone in it,a blue Sapphire carved into a heart .She had never known who had left that chain but she had loved it and worn it everyday."

Sandy~"Just because you gave me a necklace doesn't mean nothing,in my world what you did was stalk me and that's some creepy s**t,can I go now I have a live and I can't bend over backwards for this s**t!".

Sandy got up from the makeshift bed and headed towards the door before she could reach the handle she collapsed and everything went blank again.Tate lifted her off ye floor and put her back on the bed.He held her hand and his heart sang,he loved this girl with every fiber of his being and he would do anything to have her stay with him.He just didn't know what,his father had advised him to impregnate her but he felt that that was too drastic and cruel,instead he hoped she would fall in love with him but it seemed like it wasn't going to be easy to make her fall for him.

He went to see his father,he found him in the palace garden playing a game of charades with his guard.His father had become really old,he had lived over 500years and he had taught Tate everything he needed to know about their history and how he would govern the underwater kingdom after his passing.His father looked up at his and recognized the gloom on his son's face.

King Merman-"Son,how did it go,I can already see form the look on your face.These things take time but because I don't have much time you will have to do as we had planned before!"

Tate-"Father I know but your way is like violating her and that's not how I want to remember my first encounter with her for the rest of my life, isn't freewill a good thing anymore!"

King Merman-"I know Son but it needs to be done tonight,she is the one who was chosen,if we could do it any other way we would but we have no option.I will tell the girls to prepare her for you tonight,let get this over with-its a command!"

Tate was powerless against his father,he had always been obedient.Tonight was the worst of all nights ,he felt a cold shiver down his spine thinking that what he was about to do would haunt not only himself but also Sandy.Would she ever forgive him,a thousand questions kept running in his head.He took a bottle of the strongest gin and gulped it down he needed all the courage he could get tonight,but then the thought of being with the woman he loved his whole life made him feel somewhat excited.His guard came and escorted him down to Sandy's bedchamber,he had not prepared himself for what he saw...she lay on the bed beautifully clad in a pure white satin see through dress and he could see everything.The guard quickly walked out and closed the door behind him.

Sandy-"Just get it over with,that's the plan huh!?,r**e me and then kill me!"

Tate-"No,why would I do that?"

Sandy-"I heard the maids talking while they dressed me,they thought I would drink the juice they left for me...I know better!,r**e me ...I have no choice do I?"

Tate-"I am sorry Sandy,you can go-i am setting you free but I just want you to know that I love you,I wasn't going to go through with this in the first place to be honest.My destiny is being shoved down my throat and I have no choice but I will face the consequences myself.Get up let's go..."he trailed off his eyes where full of tears as this was breaking all the rules,but he understood that he had to let her go because he loved her so much it tore himapart.He didn't care what his father would say,he would hail all sorts of insults and absurdities but this was the right thing to do.Sandy saw his tears,she knew exactly how he felt and this shocked her,somehow she realised that this man was truly a noble gentleman and she felt sorry for him.

She quickly got up and took his hand which had been stretched out for her,his grip felt strong and from the moment their fingers locked there was a spark both of them felt but both of them ignored it and went out running.Sandy followed he was running so fast she couldn't keep up but she didn't let go.They ran untill he led her out through the back window of some big hall.Suddenly his legs transformed into a huge tail,a merman tail and he swam fast because he knew he had to get her out of the water fast or she would suffocate and die underwater.He breathing was only limited to the palace,outside the palace she couldn't breath.Sandy Did her best so hold her breath but the surface was out of sight and she was running out of time,she shook her hand and Tate already knew what she meant somehow.Instinctively he planted he lips over her and helped her breath,Sandy felt awkward at first but naturally she began to relax and breath through him.They locked lips until they reached the surface of the water,Sandy didn't even notice,she was deeply engrossed she began to kiss him,it felt good naturally and he responded.Sandy opened her eyes and stopped and looked at him and saw the emotion in his eyes mixed with confusion.

Sandy-"Thank you for...,I will be on my way now,goodbye Tate."

Tate-"Goodbye..... my love".He dived into the water quickly before she could say anything else and disappeared leaving Sandy alone on the seashore.
