I reluctantly follow the nurse and Shelly inside. What the hell am I supposed to say when she asks why I came to the hospital?
"Just sit here, and I'll come right back to you." The nurse says kindly and walks away. "Now what?" I whisper.
"I don't know! I hadn't thought that far." Shelly hissed back. I open my mouth to say something about her phone that she forgot when the nurse returned. She has a clipboard in her hand. "Now, Maddy, tell me, why are you here?" She asks, ready to write down what I tell her.
