"Mom, I can't take it anymore. Can we please stop?" I ask in a whining tone. My energy is gone. We've been working almost non-stop for the past 2 hours, and I'm getting really frustrated that I can't do it. I managed to shut out the thoughts and the feelings as well. It works the same; I have mastered it now. But my mother thinks that now that I've been intimate with Kevin, my powers are developing further, that I can control someone's thoughts and feelings. But no matter how hard I try, I can't.
"Come on, Maddy, I know you can do it; I can feel it." She encourages me.
"Mom, I just can't take it anymore, I'm exhausted, sucked dry." I answer. She sighs. "Okay, honey, we'll leave it at that, but I know you can do it, so we'll continue with this next time." She says with a smile.
