CHAPTER 19

After she was done talking to Bernard,she took out her laptop and typed some codes then pressed enter,and the screen changed to a video in a room.She pressed save,then share.On the other side, a man was having a nice time in the private room surrounded by two three girls,each trying to please him.There came a knock at the door,and without waiting for the man to answer,it was opened from outside.A man rushed in with a laptop,"boss, you have to see this,"he sounded frustrated.He had a long day trying to locate the IP address of the sender,only to end failing over and over again.

"How many times have I told you to knock on the door?"the man said.

"Boss, this is urgent!"As he spoke, he gave the laptop to the man and pressed play.The video showed the man entering the VIP room in the club and later three women came in,although there was no camera inside the room.but one could still guess what was going on.The video was followed by a message saying,'I still have more,release all the goods or this will end up in your inlaws house.I bet they will enjoy it.'

As he read the message, he trembled,just this video would take him to his grave,"Edward, tell them to release all the goods immediately."

Edward was Boris' trusted assistance ,"Yes sir!"He couldn't disagree,the hacker was very dangerous,someone who could monitor you without being monitored the most dangerous person.He could text back a message,but he couldn't trace the person's address.

The next day at school,Maxine got the message from Sophia that the goods had arrived.She sneered,'cowards,'it was just a video and they used the quickest method to send the goods.'Come to think of it, it was an advantage to her and a disadvantage to him.'

Now, she had a bed at the rooms that belonged to the university.After she was done with her classes,she went to her room,rested for one hour, then went to the Caffe house opposite the university.She looked around and spotted the man who offered to buy him coffee sitted at the corner.

She walked to the corner, pushed out a chair and sat down,without saying anything,causing the environment to become awkward.

"Hey beauty, least someone says hi on arrival."Max, the uninvited guest decided to speak.Earlier,when Scott was preparing himself to go out,Max insisted on following.Ever since he injected his father with the drug,he has been crushing in Scott's house refusing to leave.If he went to his apartment his father would come to get him there.

"I am not used to pleasantries,"after she said this, she looked at Scott and said,"American coffee,'then turned all her attention to her phone.

"Beauty, you look familiar.have we met before?"Max asked.Anytime he saw,he felt like he had recently seen her somewhere but he couldn't remember where.

"Nope."

"You don't speak much or you don't like speaking much?"Max continued asking,he had started to become bored,when he is with Scott,he is the one speaking much and now he is sitting next to this girl and still he is the one to initiate a conversation!

"Depends."

Pfffffft,he spat out his coffee,ten years ago when he had met Scott,he was also given the same answer by him,'depends,'now he detests that word.

"What's wrong?"Scott asked,he placed the american coffee on the table where Maxine can reach and then sat down with his own american coffee.Without waiting for Max' reply,he looked at Maxine and pointed at the dessert that the waiter had placed on the table,"I don't know your favourite,so I bought the one with chocolate."

"That's fine too."

"Which course did you take?"

"Medical research and Biological science,"

"What...!"Before he could continue, he was cut off by a female voice.

"Maxine,where have you been?I have been looking for you everywhere.You know I can't rest well without seeing that you are safe,"her voice sounded so innocent that one might even believe her,and they did,"I am so used to taking care of you since we were young that I haven't gotten used to the fact that you have already grown up."She sounded so worried,if one did not live with them when they were young,they would think she had a hard time.It sounded like a young girl taking care of her young sister,very responsible.

"Maxine,your sister is trying to be nice to you but you are ignoring her,are you that jealous of her?"One of the girls said.

"Don't speak like that to my sister,I know her since we were young,just because I got my long lost family back cannot cause her to be so jealous,right sister?"Although she was speaking at Maxine,she kept on giving bashful gazes at Scott.

Maxine still kept quite, although her words seamed harmless,but the people got the message.

"Mary,why are you saying that?isn't it obvious that she is trying to avoid you because she is jealous?Why are you speaking up for her?Martha another minion.

"It's because I know her more than anyone,besides,even if she is jealous,it's still fine,I would still love her because we grew up together.Besides,I talked to my grandfather to adopt her to the Williams family."Everyone gasped,the Williams family was well known for their oil business and their connections to the government,because one of the grandsons became a governor at a young age.By announcing the name of the family,Mary was trying announce her family background and at the same pressing Maxine to a corner.If Maxine said she wasn't jealous,then Mary would continue pesturing her to do things according to her will,but if she said she was jealous,which she was not,she would be criticized for being jealous at the one who took care of her since young.

"My acceptance party to the family will be on Saturday,and because I will not have time to go to the mall tomorrow, I went yesterday and while buying my gown,I also thought of you."After seeing that Maxine was not falling in her trap,she decided to try something else.Maxine looked at the bag that Mary was handing over to her and suddenly a memory resurfaced.

It was memory of the acceptance party for Mary,Mary had also given her a bag containing a gown which made her very happy causing her to smile and hug her tightly,later,doing her errands cleaning her clothes and making her bed just to show appreciation,but during the day of the party,she became the talk of town.Wearing a black gown that was out of fashion a few years ago at a party with make up that made her look like a witch,and outdated shoes that were given to her by Mary,made her look stupid and that was when the Willams started despising her.At the end of the party,Mary had held her hands and apologized,crying and calling herself a fool and a bad friend.She blamed herself for everythings,"Sis,I am so sorry,I didn't konw that those were old-fashioned,I just thought they would look good on you,who knew I coul be so stupid!"

The previous and foolish Maxine had belived herand even cried along with her,telling her that it was not her fault.Shaking her head,she smiled sinisterly,but no one except Scott had seen it.

Scott had been watching her ever since she came at the table but still he could not come out with anything interesting.
