The torture

Maxine woke up in an abandoned warehouse,blood was still oozing from her body, courtesy of the accident she had experienced.She tried to observe her surrounding but couldn't fathom where she was,she tried to stand up but the pain in her body stopped her from making a movement.She groaned in pain, and at that moment the door opened and a man walked in.

The man stared at Maxine then took out his phone and made a call,"madam,she has woken up,"there was silence for a while, then the man replied,"she just woke up,"he then turned to look at Maxine and said,"okay,"then he hung up the phone. Without saying a word,he left,closing the door behind him.

Maxine furrowed her eyebrows,'madam?Did I hear correctly?Which woman did I offend that would bring me in this place and in such a condition? Wasn't I supposed to be in the hospital?'Though she had a million questions in her head,she could not find the answers.Just then, the door opened and two figures walked in.

"Ooooh,the sleeping beauty just woke up!"The woman said.Her voice gave Maxine creeps.'Wasn't she supposed to be on her way to honeymoon.'she wondered."Babe, shouldn't we finnish this task then go for our honey moon?"

"Don't worry,when the man comes, the task will be done soon,"the man said.

Maxine shivered,'what's going on?'

The dim lights were lit causing her to slightly close her eyes and then open it,"Mary,Bill haven't you had enough?"

Mary chuckled,"we will never have enough, infact if you want to leave this place alive, then you have to give us the formula of the virus."

At this moment Maxine laughed, although she was laughing her eyes were filled with hatred,she hated the two for playing with her,"the formula? Over my dead body."

Mary looked at her mockingly,"don't worry sweetheart,you will die soon,although I want to kill you with my bare hands..,"she said as she looked at her fingers and blowing away invincible dust,"unfortunately ,I don't want blood on me,especially now that I am having a baby in my womb,"as she said this,she started rubbing her stomach .

"We can't kill her,"from the moment the two walked inside the room,this was the first time Bill had spoken,"The man still want her alive for the operation to go on well."

Maxine flinched,"what do you want to do with me?"

"Nothing much,we just want the formula and then we will leave the rest to professor Martin,"as if realizing she had said much,she suddenly turned to Bill.

"Don't worry,she will be dieing soon,"Bill said.

"What has this got to do with professor Martin?I am his disciple and he will save me soon."Maxine shouted,"Bill,if you had planned this all along,why did you make love to me?"

After completing the sentence,she received a big slap from Mary,"what did you just say?"she turned to Bill,"honey,did you sleep with her?"

Bill moved forward and gave Maxine an angry glare,he did not expect Maxine to say it out loud,without a word,he kicked Maxine's stomach more than several times saying,"b***h,you drugged me and seduced me to sleeping with you and now you claim I made love to you?Have you looked at yourself in the mirror?With that face of yours,do you think anyone could fall for you?You look even worse than a monkey!"After he said this, he turned and spat at her face.

Hearing that Maxine seduced her husband,Mary became angry and started slapping Maxine's face,"you slut,who gave you the idea of sleeping with my husband?do you think you are beautiful,that chemical I mixed at the laboratory destroyed your face, it could never be repaired,I made sure of that," she smiled sinisterly."By the way, professor Martin gave you the lab because he needed something from you,but I can't tell you what it is.I guess you will never find out because by that time, when the anaesthesia kicks in, you will never wake up again."

Maxine shivered,she had believed professor Martin since she joined faculties of medicine and then joined the science laboratory.She had just started becoming famous but now, it seems luck is not on her side,the experiment that she was performing was supposed to be the start of her new life but now,it seems like her life was already planned after joining professor Martin as an apprentice.

"Now,I wanted to let you die in peace but I think it won't be fun if you go to hell without torture. Besides,I should prepare you before you go to hell so that you can be ready for what's coming.What do you think hubby,"as she said that, she turned to Bill.

Bill shrugged his shoulders,"it's your call with whatever you do to her, as long as she doesn't die," he paused for a while, "Mr.Martin will arrive tomorrow noon and do the surgery. But don't torture her so much,her physique is not great because of the accident and we don't want to anger the professor,he might change his mind and refuse to give us the laboratory."

"Don't worry, I won't do much,infact, she might thank me later,"she turned to Maxine, then said,"I promise, I will be lenient with you,"she happily turned around and looked across the room as if searching for something,or someone, "now, where might that boy be?Marcus!"She called .

The door opened and the man walked in,"yes ma'am."

"Is there any socket here?"she asked.

The man bowed his head and replied ,"yes ma'am, it's behind the pillar that she is tied to,"he pointed at the pillar behind Maxine.

"Great,then go to the car and bring my bag to me,"she said.

A few minutes later,Marcus walked in with a slightly big Versace handbag and handed it over to her,she rammaged through it and took out hot iron for hair and said happily ,"thank God I had come prepared."Right now, she looked like a psychopath,she was different from the girl who kept clinging to Maxine a few days ago.She gave the plug to Marcus and said,"now, plug it there and let's start having fun."All this time, Bill stood there watching and saying nothing as if he wasn't even a part of it.

Maxine's body was already weak and so she could do nothing to defend herself,she didn't even plead for mercy because she knew it was useless,this was her fate and she had to accept.She watched as Mary turned the iron into maximum and moved slowly towards her. She looked like a haunting ghost."Undress her," she commanded.Just like a puppet, the man moved forward and started undressing her roughly,not caring about the bloody clothes nor the wounds on her body, and then the worst torture in her life began.

Twenty hours had passed and she laid there weak and hopeless with nothing to dream of except the torture that she has experienced that time.Her body was full of burnt marks and cuts. The whole room was smelling like a barbeque.Around eight in the morning, the couple left the room,telling Marcus he can have fun with her before they return,and that they will be coming back with a visitor,so he should be done before that. Maxine already knew what they meant, but she couldn't fight, she just laid there naked, shivering all over because of the cold. At first she hoped that the family that had adopted her might look for her then come and save her but the thought left her mind as soon as it came. The two of them were adopted by the same family, but they thought Mary was their real daughter because of the necklace.They spoilt her so much in the name of keeping up for the lost time she was apart from the family,now anything she tells them about her, they will accept.

The time passed by as she was being tortured and humiliated by the man,each time she ran in and out of consciousness the only thing she could do that was successful was shed tears.The next time she woke up from being unconscious,she was already tied to a table,she looked around the room that was filled with medical equipments,she already had a rough idea of what was going on.She closed her eyes in resignation as the scalpel cut through her skin.
