Andrea's POV
The sky is so blue with white small clouds. Ms. Margi dismissed us, minutes ago. It's my first day here in Ferral High School. It is lunch time now. More or less my classmates left for the cafeteria. Some stayed here in the classroom to eat with their friends. I guess they already knew each other before. And I... no one talks to me...
"Introduce yourself. Start with you, the guy on the front" Ms. Margi said with bored eyes. Seriously... She dislikes this.
"I am Liam Sarani. 17 years old. I want to get along with you all!" The first guy said. Energetic are we?
"Saychi Manuel. 16, tsk." The girl with shoulder length wavy hair said. Her hair is pure brown. She has a brown eyes, small nose, and red small lips. She's beautiful but... She has an annoyed expression right now. Ms. Margi's eyes landed on her, she just rolled her eyes not minding Ms. Margie's stare, and sit down. Saychi sit in front of me obviously it wouldn't be easy to talk to her.
It's my turn now. I fixed my breathing before standing up.
"I am Annie Andrea WIlliam. 16 years old. Nice to meet you all." I sweetly smiled before sitting down. I looked down on my desk, feeling my nervousness.
"I heard she's from Toki High School." I girl said, gaining my attention and other students' attention.
"Really? That is scary." A frightened boy said. What's scary about Toki? I looked at them weirdly. Their voices became louder and louder, they would gazed at me while talking shits about Toki. How scary it is, that it's the most dangerous school. Yet they did not mention the reason. A reason.
"Shut your mouth! You're disrespecting Ms. William can't you see her?" Ms. Margi interrupted the tension in the classroom. Wait... what's scary about my former school? I want to ask. I can feel that it's connected to THAT.
And that's what happened. I can still feel the stares of other students that stayed here in the classroom. Ah hell, I thought my first day would be great. I shrugged all of my thoughts, and their stares. I picked up my bag and I stood up, my seat was just next to the window. From here I can see the heart of this school. The field. Students and teachers are minding their own business.
I opened the window and a warm wind brushed at me, making me look at the sky. I inhale and exhale, I feel like I am staring at a painting of the blue sky with white clouds. I observed the people on the field for the last time before heading out of the room.
I placed my bag at the vacant table I found here in the crowded cafeteria. I wiped the sweats at my forehead before grabbing my wallet and lining up. A long line! I waited for my turn, I bought one big burger and two cokes, cause why not? We only live once hehe. I walked to the table and I laid down the foods I had bought. I took out my phone and dived to the internet. I started unpacking my burger while my eyes were still looking at my phone. I was busy eating and scrolling on the internet, when someone sat down on the chair in front of me. I peek at the person and it was...Ethan.
"Yo!" He put his tray with food on the table.
"Can I sit here?" He said. At the same time fixing his drink. How can I say no?
"Sure. Your food is already ready to be eaten, how can I say no, right?" I chuckled. I put down my phone to eat well.
"That was on purpose." He chuckled too. I looked at his eyes, even though he's smiling, it's deep and full of secrets. Sorrow and regrets cannot be hidden.
“Where’s your girl friends?” I asked. He stopped eating before answering.
“Ginia said something came up. As for Lucky… I don’t know, I didn't see her.”
“The guys are busy too, dunno why.” I nodded.
"Ginia and Lucky, huh? What a cute name" I smiled, now I know their names. I clasped my hands still holding the burger.
I bit my burger and we continued talking. We spend our lunch time talking and laughing. Ethan's a good listener and a good talker. He can lighten the atmosphere, which makes people comfortable. I wonder if I can ask him about THAT but... I don't trust him.
After lunch we parted ways. I finished my lessons for the day, my classmates are still talking about me and Toki High, I ignored them.
I am now walking to the parking lot, currently the sky is color orange. I stopped walking half way when I heard a glass hitting a wall. I followed where the sound came from... there is a dark area here in the parking lot- a small place behind a wall. I should probably go away from here but what if there is someone in trouble? I scan around to check if there are other people here beside me, I can't find any.
I leaned, placing my left ear on the wall. I can hear someone picking up glasses from the floor. They smashed the glass on the opposite side of the wall I am leaning to, making me step backwards.
"There there, calm down" To my shock it's a girl's voice!
"Calm down? Are you making fun of the situation?" A guy's voice. It's deep. I feel like I heard it somewhere, however I let go of that thought, guys in adolescent stage mostly have the same voice. I think.
"Indeed, the things I'm seeing are fun. The "King'' of the underground fight is your enemy." What?! Underwhat? A fight? Then this is something I must exclude myself. A fight is not my thing. And it seems there’s no innocent involved in the glass smashing. I sighed before turning away.
I continued walking to my destination- the parking lot.
The moment I saw Bareny, my family's driver, I felt relieved, truth to be told she's the only girl I trusted other than Mother. She opened the door for me, I immediately went inside. I looked outside of the car window before closing my eyes.
"You okay?" She asked. I raised a thumbs up, showing her that I am okay. I rest my hand at the seat before closing my eyes.
Remembering the things that have happened today.
