Adairia’s POV It felt nice seeing Milo again, I haven’t seen him in a good while because I’ve been so busy with finding a place for our business. I’m starting to get better with my feelings around Milo. There were times when I would hug him and I will get all jittery on the inside but now I can hug him without feeling that way. It finally hit me that it was time for me to move on and get over the school girl crush I had on Milo forever. Now I know that there will never be a chance between Milo and I. I know that he broke up with Iris but that doesn’t mean he will come to me plus I wouldn’t want him to because I don’t want to be his rebound. I don’t know why I never thought about asking Milo or Asher if I could rent a space in the West and Jones Building. I just been so stressed out with finding a place it never crossed my mind. I’m glad I went to see him today because it gave me great opportunity to see how well I can act around him, now that I decided to move on. I had to laugh at Asher and him playing his big brother role. I always have been the shy one out of everybody in our friends and family group, I will get so nervous when guys use to talk to me but then again I always thought I would end up with Milo, so there was no reason for me to talk to guys. This is actually my first date; I know that’s a little embarrassing to say at the age of 22 but its true. I walked into the LaFaye Diner looking for Marco. Marco and I met when we was in college, we had a business class and worked on multiple projects together. Marco is handsome, smart, and intelligent his been a great friend these past 4 years. There are times that he asked me out on a date but we always went out as friends because I always made it known that I wasn’t ready to date or get serious. Not too many people knew about my obsession with Milo only a select few knew how I felt about him and I like to keep it that way. I looked around the diner until I found him sitting in the corner looking through the menu, I walked over to the table a little nervous because this is my first real date, “Hi Marco, I’m sorry I’m late I had a last minute meeting.” I said and bent down to give him a hug. He stood up and walked around to the other side of the table to pull the chair out for me, “That’s ok; I just got here not that long ago myself.” he said while walking back over to his side of the table and sat down, “I’m just glad you didn’t stand me up.” he said while laughing. “I will never do that.” I said and joined in on his laughter. Our waitress came over to take our orders but she barely looked my way to get my order. I couldn’t believe she was this bold to flirt with Marco right in first of me, she didn’t know if I was his girlfriend or not. When the waitress walked away I said to Marco “How much you want to bet that my order will be wrong by the time it gets to me.” “Why would you say that Adairia?” “Because she didn’t even acknowledge me the whole time she was taking our order. Don’t act like you didn’t notice.” He chuckled, “I did notice but I wasn’t going to mention it. Women like that don’t excite me.” He said in a serious tone. We started to reminisce about the time we had in college. I honestly miss college, I had a great experience. I learned a lot and met some wonderful people. “How are Tamala and Alli doing?” “They’re doing well, Tamala is chilling at the moment until she figures out what direction she wants to go and Alli and I are opening up our own fashion business.” “That’s wonderful, you guys did great in the fashion shows back in college, and I know you’ll excel in the fashion world.” “Thank you, that means a lot coming from you.” I said while smiling. I meant it when I said that it means a lot coming from him because he always been a good friend and supportive in everything I did. He was the one to encourage me to do the first fashion show. Our conversation was put on hold when the waitress returned with our order. I looked down at my plate to make sure it was correct and I wasn’t surprised when it wasn’t. She didn’t even look at me when she placed the plate in front of me, my drink order was wrong too. I was calling the woman’s name but she kept ignoring me so I tapped her on her shoulder super hard, “MA’AM?” I said super loud, she turned around like I was bothering her; I wouldn’t have disturbed her if she got my order correct. “WHAT?” she yelled back. “This isn’t what I ordered. I don’t even know what the hell this is.” “So?” she said with an attitude. “So……you need to go get me what I order.” I said giving her just as much of an attitude. Remember when I said I was the shy one out of my friends and family well that is true but I grew up with my twin sister Alli who is feisty as hell and my best friend Tamala who is just as feisty and who loves to fight, well they taught me some stuff but I don’t like to act like that unless I really have to and this witch is about to bring it out of me. “And if I don’t?” she said while getting into my face. I stood up from my seat and was about to tell her where she can shove this food when Marco step in and said, “Ma’am it will be in your best interest to go get her correct meal and stop the flirting and do your job.” “Actually no, I don’t want you to go get my food. I want you to go get me a manager because I don’t trust you with my shit.” “Look here b***h…” “No, you look here,” I cut her off, “you have been rude and disrespectful, you flirted with my date so boldly in front of me, like do you have no shame and then you bring me the wrong drink and food order. So how about you and your silicone titties leave and go get me a manager.” “b***h you wouldn’t know what to do with him anyways. You look like your boring in bed.” “Listen b***h I have more class in my little fingers than you will have in your entire body. Matter of fact I don’t need you to go get the manager, I’ll call them myself.” I said while pulling out my phone to make a phone call. “You’re bluffing you don’t know the managers.” She said. I gave her a smirk and waited for somebody to answer the phone. “Hello.” A deep baritone voice said through the phone, “Hey are you or T at work right now?” I asked sweetly, “Yea we in the back, what’s up Dairia?” “Can y’all come up to the front I have a problem y’all need to solve.” “Yea we on our way.” He said and hung up. A few seconds later 2 big muscular men walked over to where we are standing. I watched at how big the waitress eyes got and I just stared at her with a smirk. I hope she don’t think I’m bluffing now because this b***h is about to lose her job. The tall muscular man with tattoos running down his arms came over to me and gave me the biggest hug, “What’s up little bit?” My big cousin Ray said, “Why didn’t you tell us you was stopping by, we could’ve gave you the family discount.” I gave him a stone look, “now you know I don’t like to get special treatment.” He rolled his eyes at me and shook his head; I looked behind him at his business partner and best friend Trigg Jackson. “Hey Trigg.” I said while waving at him, “What’s up Dairia?” he said with a head nod. Trigg always has been the quiet one; he’s more observant then the rest of us. “So, what’s the problem Dairia?” Ray asked me, it only took me a few seconds to tell him and Trigg how bad of a waiter this waitress has been. By the time I was done Ray and Trigg was furious, “What the hell Melissa? We had a talk about your behavior on multiple occasions.” Ray said, “Now you disrespecting my cousin?” he said with his eyebrows lifted up. “I didn’t know she was your cousin Ray.” She muttered under her breathe, she said like that makes it alright. Regardless if I was his cousin or not she shouldn’t have acted the way she did. “It doesn’t matter if she’s my cousin or not, you are suppose to be professional at all times. Go pack up your locker, you’re done.” She looked shocked, did she really think that she was still going to have a job after the way she acted, she must be crazy. “Are you serious Ray, you know I need this job.” “Well you should’ve thought about that before you disrespected another customer and this time it was my cousin. You were already on thin ice.” “Please Ray give me another chance.” She begged, she look like she was about to cry. Ray just shook his head no, I knew my cousin, once his mind is made up there’s no changing it plus you messed with his family, he do not play when it comes to his family. She looked over to Trigg for help; he shook is head no too. “No, Melissa you been warned on multiple occasions. Now go pack up your locker and leave.” She looked over to me and gave me the most deadly look; if looks could kill I’ll be dead. “This isn’t over bitch.” She said when she walked by me. I just gave her the devilish smile and waved. “Sorry you guys had to deal with that, your meals is on the house today.” Ray said to Marco and I. “Thank you but you don’t have to do that Ray Ray; I told you I don’t like special treatment.” “Shut up Dairia, I’m not taking no for an answer, so tell me what you want to eat and I’ll have it brought out to you.” I rolled my eyes and told him my order and sat back down in my seat. “And for you sir, let us bring you a fresh plate because with all that drama I’m pretty sure your food got cold.” “Thank you sir.” “No, my name is Ray don’t call me sir, that’s for my father.” Ray said while laughing. “I’m Marco.” Ray gave him a nod and headed to the back to place our order with Trigg following behind him. “I hope our first date wasn’t ruined” I said to Marco a little embarrassed by the way I acted with that girl, I don’t like to come out of character unless if I really have to. “No, it will never be ruined because I am spending it with a beautiful woman.” I couldn’t help but blush. Our date continue to be good, after our meal came out we continue to have great conversation. Marco is a great person to talk to, he listens and gives his opinion when it’s needed and he doesn’t judge I feel like I can be myself around him. We finished our meal and were getting ready to leave when we ran into Milo and Asher.
