The Drama Club

Fifty-five: The Drama Club Hearing this, Astian followed the direction where Kronos was pointing at and spotted a stall that was obviously decorated in a rush with only one person guarding. Even though there were almost wilted flowers hanging on the vines that were purposely placed at the side of the stall, the name of the club was beautifully and freshly plastered on top as if the other decoration did not matter as long as the name of the club shines. ‘Drama Club’ “Oh~ That would be fun. Let’s go!” Astian chuckled as he tried to pull Kronos towards the stall. But for some reason, Kronos did not budge and kept his gaze at Astian up until the latter finally noticed and looked at Kronos with a confused expression. With that, Kronos asked him simply. “You?” Come to think of it, Astian would barely talk about the things he likes. Because anything that Kronos would fancy, he would also come to choose those things too. That was why Kronos was used to not asking Astian about his opinion for the reason that he got used to Astian being fine with everything. But he may be uninterested in clubs, but at least he knew how to read the mood. Seeing that the ambiance was lively, the clubs must be something that should be taken into consideration and also putting your feelings into account. After all, once you join a club, you are bound to it up until your graduation. That was why when Kronos remembered about Astian, the former abruptly asked for the latter’s opinion. Nevertheless, contrary to his expectations, Astian seemed to have the same mindset as he looked at Kronos with an excited expression and replied in a simple manner. “Me? I’m fine anywhere as long as I’m with you.” With that being said, Kronos did not push the topic further as he thought it would still be useless as Astian is the type of person who would stand by his side and think of it as a favorite thing to do. And it’s not like he’s against it. As long as Astian says that he’s okay, then all is well. Thus, after pondering for a moment, Kronos started to walk as Astian was pulling him. “Alright.” When Astian noticed that Kronos was starting to budge from his place, the former then beamed as he walked towards the direction of the stall while holding Kronos’ hand. “Let’s go to the stall then!” As soon as they were in front of the stall, Astian immediately approached the student in charge of the booth. To determine the year level at the Patrician Academy, one should look at the necktie of each student. Blue represents freshman or the first-year students, Red represents sophomores or the second-year students, Orange represents juniors or the third-year students. In contrast, white represents the seniors or the graduating fourth-year students. Before greeting the student, Astian took a quick glance at her necktie to see what year level she was currently at. When Astian realized that it was orange, the latter abruptly bowed and showed off his warm smile. “Hello, Senior~.” She was a third-year student. But it was not apparent because of her height. The student on duty had two horns akin to Sarlienne. However, it was still a question if she had tails. Because if she happens to have one, then she’s a succubus, but if she had none, then she’s a demon. Either of the breeds was known to be rude and harsh towards a stranger. Hence, Astian and Kronos wondered why she was in charge of the stall. The good thing was that their question was abruptly answered when the senior looked at them and showed off a business smile. “Hi. Are you interested in acting on stage?” With that being said, Astian replied with a smile as he pulled Kronos beside him. “Yes! We want to join the drama club. If there’s a screening, then we will do our best!” If it’s acting, then Astian was pretty confident that he could pull it off. Back in his training days, he was taught on how to act as another person in case he would be in a hiding. He remembered mastering all kinds of personalities, and that seemed to be the reason why Astian could understand Kronos very well. Because in other words, Astian could easily fit in everyone’s shoes and know what they want and how they wish to act. The student in charge, on the other hand, slicked her long purple hair as she stared at Astian for a couple of minutes as if she was checking all of his most profound and darkest secrets. “Hmm... I do not doubt you….” Shortly after that, her eyes went towards Kronos and continued. “... but your friend seemed to lack emotion. Can you act or the two of you just sticks together every time?” When her purple eyes glimmered for a second, Kronos abruptly used appraisal on the said student. And when he checked on her potential, she had the ability to know one’s emotions. Knowing Astian, the student might have seen how the kid was excited and brimming with confidence, but then when he saw Kronos, who was emotionless, she must have felt a little bit of remorse. But what can he do when the only time that he could express other emotions would be because of Astian surprising him with this and that. Hence, Kronos replied with a stern look on his face. “I can.” Yeah, right, he could act. He acted like a waiter to kill someone and even acted like a p********e to choke someone to death even before he could strip off. If it does not count as acting experiences in his previous life, then screw off. Of course, who would believe him lying through his teeth? Hence, the student raised a brow and asked a question once again. “Really, huh? Then, can you talk longer?” With that being said, Kronos flinched as he avoided the student’s gaze. “That…” He almost forgot about his manner of speech. How could someone who would swear in every phrase that he would get to let out in his mouth be on stage? What if he were to portray a good kid? Or maybe they need someone who could take a role wherein the character is mute, then he would definitely do his best. And when Kronos was in the middle of debating on his inner self, Astian already approached the student and explained Kronos having a curse by leaning close to her and whispering in her ear. “Uhm…” Of course, it would be embarrassing if Astian were to explain it out loud. He at least wanted Kronos to save a face to the nearby stalls, which could easily eavesdrop if they wanted to. Knowing this, the student pursed her lips together as she looked at Kronos with pity. ‘Could it be that they were actually looking for some clubs after a long time?’ (No, they did not, and it was their first stall.) ‘And that they get rejected every time because this kid right here has such a curse?’ (Again, no.) The student seemed to be determined to take them in her wing that she clapped once after pondering on what to do with them so that they could pass. “Oh, so that was it? It’s fine. I have some contacts in the herbology club. But your emotion is one thing. Can you smile?” With that being said, Kronos got back to reality and stared at the student for a while as if processing what she had said. And shortly after, Kronos started to slowly stretch the side of his lips as he imagined something daring and then unconsciously showed off a genuine smile. Seeing this, the student was agape in shock to see how much Kronos changed in just a smile. It was as if the flowers bloomed for him and the sun rose for only him. “Wow.” What’s more, was that the student was pretty sure that Kronos was not the type of person who would smile three times a day. If you were to be precise, it might be once in a blue moon seeing how his close companion looks at him with his nose and mouth leaking out excessive amounts of blood just because of Kronos. And seeing this, the student immediately confirmed their identities. “Kid, your potential’s leaking.” The student commented as she grabbed a cloth that was meant to decorate the stall and used it to wipe the leaking blood. And when she was in the middle of wiping Astian, another third-year student showed up at the stall and pulled both of them inside. “What the hell, why are you stopping them from joining? Handsome young man, welcome! Welcome!” It seemed to be some sort of magic because the moment they entered the stall, the settings had changed. They were already at an unfamiliar building where a lot of students were rushing in and out. Some were holding a pamphlet while the others were holding some boxes of decorations. While Kronos and Astian were busy looking around the building, the student in charge scowled as she looked at the other student who pulled them inside the stall. “Shut up, I’m not.” Hearing this, Kronos and Astian looked at both of them with confusion. Of course, they were just at the open grounds a while ago together with the stalls, but then suddenly the location changed, and it was a building that they never saw in their entire Academy time? Well, not that they were already old students. But still, they need to know. Seeing how they looked at them, the student who pulled them smiled widely as she pointed at herself and then pointed at the student in charge. “My name is Steffi, and this is Tatiana. You can call her Tati. Nice to meet you, juniors!”
