Helena It was no surprise that the sun showed up for my cousin’s wedding. With her luck in life, it was always guaranteed to be the most beautiful day of the year and despite what my mother thought, I didn’t resent her one bit. I smiled in passing to the Priestess from Hera’s temple who would be officiating the ceremony and grabbed myself a glass of sparkling wine from the open bar. I needed a little bit of liquid courage to get me through the whole thing. Not on accounts of my cousin or her husband-to-be but my mother who no doubt would have something to say about my choice of dress, hair, and lack of date. My mind flitted briefly to Anastasia. She said she was going to come with me, and she’d made it sound like a date, but I wouldn’t believe it until she was actually here. “Helena!”
