The elevator doors slid open with a sharp ding as I arrived on my floor.
My assistant instantly shot me an apologetic look from behind her desk. “I’m sorry, I tried to tell her to wait but she didn’t really listen.”
She didn’t need to say any more, I could see exactly who was in my office through the glass wall.
“It’s fine,” I assured her, not in the least surprised by the turn of events. Even if I was the current Aphrodite, Aunt Del would always hold a degree of authority over me and I’d resigned myself to that. Most days, I embraced her guidance and counted myself lucky that she was so present in my life. The days she barged into my office, not so much.
With a prepared breath, I stepped into my office. “Good morning, Aunt Del. What can I do for you?”
