*Chapter 3* Nathi I can hear voices but they sound to be distant. It feels like l am in a different world and l try to read the voices that l am hearing and damn. This sounds like Evi's voice. What is she doing here? Where am l? I slightly open my eyes and the minute they open they land on Evi, the mother of my children and her mother Naledi. Sweey pie are u okay? ( asks Evi) Son-in-law u are finally awake( says Naledi) Yey nina nifunani la? Evi didn't we agree that we will never meet each other for the next 3 months so why are u going against your words now huhh? Baby as soon as l got a call that u are hospitalised l forgot about everything and l decided to come here (says Evi) Evi yin ngawe mara? Stop asking questions sweetie and tell me how u ended up inthe hospital because it's been a week now (asks Evi) That's none of your businesss. Right now your main focus should be getting me discharged cause l want to go back to my soulmate. Evi The fact that the father of my 2 kids does not want to be close with me and still considers me as his baby mama and not soulmate hurts me. I have been through thick and thin with Nathi but what does he do, he treats me like some sort of junk. Ok l admit that he caught me in bed with his father but then l was doing that for his own sanity because his father was threatening me that if l don't have s*x with him, he will kill Nathi. Nathi and his father are not enemies but they are also not besties either. There is some chemistry between the two. Bab' Ngcobo (Nathi's father) is the reason why my marriage is falling apart and his son is not aware of that rather he thinks that l wanted to get a taste of both father and son which is not true. Naledi What's happening son-in-law? Like really? Is it not evident that my daughter cares about you, Evi loves you but you act as if you don't realise all that. Shut up you old hag, you are the one who taught your daughter to go around sleeping with old men. (replies Nathi) Oh my God, don't u dare disrespect me Nathi. First things first, you impregnated my daughter and you did not even give me any money for the damage you caused. There's no money that l am going to pay for this hoe daughter of yours cause the only thing that she is good at is climbing people's beds. ( replies Nathi) Nqobizitha I feel like l have failed my daughter. All these years and l failed to notice that there was something wrong. I feel so horrible right now and l wish that l could make it up to her but how? I hold myself accountable for whatever happened because how can something like that happen to my one and only daughter whilist l am still alive.
