Becoming the Alpha Queen

Chapter 2 - Liam

-Five Years Later-

I was finally arriving home for the first time in five years from Alpha training. My father had always thought that it was important that my Beta, Gamma and I traveled around the world staying with our different allies to learn about their packs. It was one of the best ways to become a better Alpha and to form good relationships with our other allies. We also trained some of the weaker packs and helped their warriors and gave suggestions on how to enhance security at the borders. I had learned a lot in my time away, and I learned what kind of Alpha I wanted to be. My parents were amazing role models but this helped solidify how I wanted to lead. I hadn't found my mate met, but I was completely ok with that. I knew that I'd find her when the time was right, before we had left for our training my Beta Jackson had scented his mate, she was three years younger than we were, so he had returned home when she turned eighteen to claim her. He returned back for training a couple weeks, knowing it was important for us to continue our training. I knew it was hard for him and that's why I was glad I hadn't met my mate, my Gamma Gabe had met his mate at the last pack we visited and I was pleased when she agreed to return with us.

I had absolutely no issues that I hadn't met my mate yet, and while I had the opportunity to hook up with other girls I had decided against it after I saw the issues that it could cause. One of the Alpha's of an ally pack had slept with a few of the other she wolves in his pack before finding his mate and they did nothing but cause issues for him and her. I didn't want that to happen, and I knew distance wouldn't prevent issues. Despite refraining from hooking up with anyone in my pack there were certainly a few girls in my pack that I knew would cause issues regardless. The only thing I had going for me was I was able to keep it in my pants.

"Son!" My father greeted me as I climbed out of the vehicle, my mother and him waiting for me. He grabbed me in a hug before my mother pulled me into her strong embrace.

"We're so glad you're back!" My mother said kissing me on the cheeks as I returned her hug. I could feel my wolf Shadow prancing around in my mind.

"It's good to be home, isn't it buddy?" I asked him thinking that's why he was so excited.

"Yes, but that's not why I'm excited. I'm not sure what it is, but something big is going to happen." He explained and I grinned, he rarely got excited about anything and it wasn't negative energy.

"We've planned your homecoming party for tomorrow night." My mom was telling me and I focused my attention back to her. I nodded remembering that she had been planning this since she knew we were coming home soon.

"Looking forward to it." I told my mother kissing her on the cheek, I knew how much she liked to party plan. I also knew that we had a bunch of new pack members that had joined over the past few years so it was an opportunity to meet them, prior to becoming Alpha. I grabbed my bags and headed into the pack house to my room. I quickly unpacked my bags before jumping in the shower. I was exhausted from the traveling and when I climbed into bed it didn't take me long to fall asleep.

I woke up early the next morning and made my way down to the office, I had some paper work I had to finish up prior to the party that was going to be happening later on. I had to finish documenting what I had learned about all of the packs we had been to and I knew that both my Beta and Gamma were going to be busy with their mates and I didn't want to disturb them.

I was so focused on my paper work that I didn't notice my office door opening. A throat cleared and I finally looked up.

"Liam... You're home." Stacy one of the she-wolves from my pack said, trying to sound seductive. I didn't my absolute best to not roll my eyes. She was three years younger than I was and she had always chased me. I knew she was hoping that I would make her my Luna but that wasn't happening. Stacy was dressed in the shortest red dress I had ever seen, it was extremely tight and she had on a pair of extremely high heels. She was wearing a ton of makeup and had doused herself in perfume.

"What can I do for you?" I asked her, not commenting on the fact that she had referred to me as only Liam, and not Alpha. Despite not having taken over yet, I was still to be addressed as such.

"Well I heard you were back, and that you hadn't found your mate yet. So I thought maybe you'd want to take me as your date to your party tonight and we could get reacquainted... Or we could get reacquainted right now..." She said running her hands up her body as she leaned over my desk, pushing her boobs up.

"No Stacy. You know that's not going to happen. I'm waiting for my mate, and she wouldn't appreciate knowing that you were coming in here trying to seduce me. Please go put on some appropriate clothes, I am your Alpha, not your boyfriend and I'm not interested." I told her firmly. I was trying to be kind but also firm enough that I wasn't going to give her the wrong idea or false hope.

The smirk that she had come in with instantly turned into a frown and she stomped her foot.

"You know we belong together. I'd make a great Luna." She said and I shook my head. Stacy had a terrible attitude, she was horrible to those she felt were below her, despite the fact that she was only an Omega.

"It's not going to happen. Now please leave my office and knock next time before entering. I have important things to do." I said dismissing Stacy, she stomped her foot and huffed before turning around and storming out of the office. I pinched the bridge of my nose, annoyed at her audacity but thankful I hadn't done anything with her in the past.
