TODAY is my first day as the head of the oncology department at Montaniel Asian Hospital. Dr. Avila hired and promoted me to the position that he previously held since he was promoted as the deputy medical director of the hospital.
Dr. Avila has been the acting medical director since the former owner and head of the hospital got sick. When he passed away, his wife who also happens to be a doctor decided to take over the reign as the new medical director. None of us has met her, but apparently, she’s a world-class oncologist, and has plans to turn the hospital oncology department into a world-class facility as well.
When I resigned from Grace Hope Hospital, I decided to open my own practice with a former classmate that included a chemotherapy center for cancer patients.
