He's Broken

Chapter 5: Plans

I woke up the morning after my fifteenth birthday when a heavy weight was tossed onto my body. I was laying on my side facing the wall in the fetal position seeing as I had gotten my period in the middle of the night and went back to sleep with a uterine cramp. I groaned and rolled over growling when I saw jade green eyes that looked like mine. Black messy hair accompanied the green eyes along with a blazing smile. 

"Lenny!" I squealed happily forgetting about my period pains. 

"Happy belated birthday Maya." He said as I squished him against my chest. "Maya....ca...n't......breath!" I let go of Lenny laughing shyly. 

"Sorry Len, I missed you so much." I said as another cramp hit me. 

"Are you alright honey?" My dad said. I ignored him and grabbed my phone and hit the call button.

"Morning." A sleepy Thomas answered. 

"I need Advil and chocolate, dark chocolate." I groaned. 

"On it, be there in ten."

"My parents and Lenny are here, meet me in the dining hall."

"I'll see you there Maya." Thomas said stiffly. I hung up and got out of bed and went to my bathroom and took a quick shower. I put on a pair of bland red underwear and put in a tampon and set a pad in my underwear before putting on a strapless bra and a dark green off the shoulder long sleeve shirt and black skinny jeans. When I was dressed I brushed my hair and put it in a sloppy bun before brushing my teeth. I wandered back into my room ignoring my parents and grabbing my backpack. 

"C'mon Lenny." I said taking his hand. "To chocolate." I led him from my room leaving my parents in there with the door open. The academy not only teaches regular school lessons, lessons on how to be a good leader for your pack along with combat lessons are taught daily. One of the first lessons we learned was the importance of omegas. Omegas were originally created to help Lunas during childbirth and infancy. They cooked, cleaned, and helped the Luna with her duties. In time omegas got younger and younger, then began getting treated poorly. In our time it is common for omegas to be used as punching bags and vents of anger, but it was wrong. The council said the purpose of the packs omegas should be limited to cleaning and cooking. It is also taught that they should be protected as much as any other wolf seeing as they are the ones who feed the pack.

My parents were one of the bad Alpha pairs who let their wolves get abused daily, they even participated in it. One night Thomas and I were talking and I asked him who nearly killed him the night I had to drag his nearly dead body to the hospital. He was reluctant to tell me, but he eventually spilled the beans and told me it was my dad. My dad almost killed my mate, since I found out around a year and a half ago I haven't talked to either of my parents, not through text nor answering their calls. 

I sighed once we got to the dining hall, I led Lenny to the breakfast buffet and we got our plates. Then we made our way to my usual table and I sat in my normal seat next to Thomas. 

"Here ya go." Thomas said handing me the three Advil pills. I took them gratefully and swallowed them with the glass of orange juice I grabbed. 

"Thanks Tommy." I said before I began eating my scrambled eggs and toast. 

"So Maya, who is this?" Christian asked looking at Lenny. 

"I'm Len, Maya's little brother."

"So are you a silent eater too?" Xavier asked sitting down.

"A what?" Lenny asked setting his fork down, Thomas and I just kept eating, not adding anything to the conversation. 

"Maya and Thomas both don't eat while they talk." Christian said whining.

"Maya, eating silently." Lenny said waving the thought away. "She's a chatterbox." 

"Nope, they rarely talk when there is food in front of them, if they do it's either a grunt or something simple. Right guys?" Xavier said. We both grunted, Christian and Xavier did the 'told ya so!' face to Lenny who looked dumbfounded. 

"You used to always talk to me while you were eating." Lenny pouted. 

"That's because your my little brother and I adore you." He smiled at my answer while Christian and Xavier gaped like fish. 

"Awwwee you're so sweet." Lenny said pretend blushing. I kissed his forehead then went back to eating my food. Thomas finished before I did and grabbed the chocolate and put it in my bag, handing me a single piece. Once he was done he put his hand on my thigh while I finished my food. 

"I swear you look familiar." Lenny said to Thomas. Thomas nodded and sighed sadly while Lenny narrowed his eyes studying my mate. "No way! This is the brown wolf right?! You're bigger than my dad!" Lenny said like a school girl with gossip. 

"That I am."

"Your name is Thomas right?" Lenny asked. 

"It is." Thomas said neutrally. "Tell me Len, who is the punching bag for the pack now that I'm gone?" Lenny looked troubled and he sighed. 

"There is a new girl named Carmen from Spain, her mom ran away from her pack and they live with us now." Lenny said. "I see her mom with bruises a lot like the ones you used to have." 

"What else do you see Lenny?" I asked him.

"Mom and Dad have been fighting a lot lately. Like mom is always really mad at dad." He said. 

"I'm sorry you have to deal with that Lenny." I said taking his hand in mine. I finished my food and took Thomas's hand that was on my thigh and interlaced our fingers. 

"I'm okay, I spend a lot of time with Uncle Jim and Sadie." He said happily. 

"So, you two seem closer than usual." Xavier said looking at Thomas and I.

"Is that a question or a statement Vee?" I asked. 

"Question." Christian said with an evil smirk. 

"Then we choose to use the right to remain silent." Thomas said. 

"So Maya, when can I meet your wolf?" Lenny asked excitedly. 

"We can go for a run after classes." I suggested, "before you ask, yes, you and Deimos may accompany us."  I said looking up at Thomas who smiled. 

"What about us?" Christian said in fake hurt. 

"Yeah, our wolves want to meet the future Luna of Wandering Moon." Xavier added.

"Yes you can come too." I said dramatically. "Lenny are you gonna run with me or Tommy?" I asked.

"I'll judge when I see your wolf." He said. "I know Tom's wolf is big, but I have no idea how large yours is." 

"Did you just call Thomas, Tom?" A snarky voice said, we all turned to the Blonde haired, blue eyed bimbo that was Dylan standing with Matias, her arms were crossed and her abnormally large lips were pouted. 

"Yeah sooo?" Lenny said wondering what was up. 

"And he let you?" She pouted. 

"Yeah." Lenny said. 

"What the hell Thomas?!" She growled stomping her high heel on the floor. "I thought we had something? Yet you let a simple wolf like Maya." She spat my name out like it was poison, "call you Tommy and a newbie call you Tom." She said to the now very pissed off Thomas. He was so pissed Deimos took control and shifted in the middle of the dining hall. 

"s**t s**t Shit." I said frantically. Deimos was snarling and snapping his jaws at a very pale Dylan who was backing away slowly. Everyone in the dining hall shrunk away and bowed their heads at the large brown wolf. His power was on full display making the children of the most powerful alphas in the world submit. I got out of my seat and got in front of the raging wolf. He looked down at me, softening his gaze and ceasing his snarls. 

"Deimos, let me talk to Thomas please." He whimper snarled and his body shook as Thomas took control, his green eyes had specks of brown in them telling me Thomas was in control. "I can handle this, go get dressed and ready for classes. I'll see you in Trig." He huffed and looked over my shoulder once more with a loud snarl before licking my nose and turning and padding out the main doors. I turned to Dylan who was still pale, at her feet was a yellow puddle. Deciding she was embarrassed enough I turned and left her there. I went back to our table where Lenny and the other guys were sitting like statues. 

"I thought he was going to kill her." Christian said. 

"Probably would have if Maya hadn't stopped him." Xavier responded.

"Maya you are a bad-ass, how were you not terrified of him?" Lenny gasped finally able to speak. 

"Neither Tommy or Deimos would dare hurt me." I said shrugging. 

"How do you know that?" Lenny said. 

"I feel it in my gut."

"It's because they're mates." Xavier said. 

"How can you tell?" Christian asked his brother. 

"It's pretty obvious." Xavier said. "She is literally the only wolf here who didn't feel the need to submit to his supreme power. She is the only one who can call him Tommy, he wolfed out because Dylan insulted her and she was able to make his wolf submit to her by asking once." Before I could confirm nor deny, the end of breakfast bell rang. I grabbed mine and Thomas's bags and Lenny's hand before walking out of the main doors and leading Lenny to Trigonometry where Thomas was waiting for us. He still looked pissed so people avoided him, I however led a reluctant Lenny over and took his hand, he instantly calmed and smiled down at me, he kissed my cheek before leading us into the room. 

**********Meanwhile***********

.....Zenon POV........

I was sitting in the meeting chamber with my council brothers and sisters while Alpha Penn told us of his issues with his neighbor Luna Sherry. She has been taking land around her for her growing pack, she was beginning to take into no mans land where no pack was supposed to take land. Luna Sherry's mate and Alpha Dedrick was killed in a struggle with rouges in Norway a few years ago. He went to his brother's pack and tried to aid his sibling and ended up paying the ultimate price. Sherry and her three pups were heart broken, her eldest a son named Kristof was actually studying here, he was almost as good as Penn's promising daughter Maya. 

"Is there anything the council can do about Luna Sherry?" Penn finally asked. 

"We'll speak with her." Fredrick said. "Now Alpha Penn, my brothers and I would like to know what your plans are for Thomas after he graduates."

"I have no plans for Thomas Councilman, I figured he would leave here and create his own pack." Penn said emotionlessly. 

"You do realize he will be Alpha of Wandering Moon one day, don't you?" Mason asked goading the man. 

"He will not." Java snapped, she had been silent the entire time the meeting had been going on. "My daughter Maya will lead the pack by her mates side. Not that damn omega."

"Thomas is no longer an omega Java, he is the strongest alpha we have trained in a long time, not to mention he and Maya already have an unbreakable bond, rarely do we see them apart." Alfin added.

"My daughter wouldn't be caught dead with that thing." Java growled. "She will wait for her mate and they will lead Wandering Moon." Something seemed off about her today. 

"One more disrespectful word about Thomas and I will cut out your tongue wolf." Samuel snarled. Samuel rarely spoke and when he did he was calm and neutral, so it was shocking to hear him so irate.

"Yes sir." Java said shrinking away from the power Samuel emanated. 

"I agree with my wife, Maya shall wait for her mate to lead Wandering Moon." Penn said calmly, though his face gave off his true feelings of fear. 

"How are you both so oblivious?" Mason asked. 

"I beg your pardon!" Java growled lightly. 

"After seeing them together for less than five minutes it has been obvious to us that Thomas and Maya are mates." I said finally speaking up. Java and Penn both looked furious. 

"My daughter hardly knew Thomas before she came here." Penn growled. 

"That is where you are wrong Alpha. From the information we have gotten from speaking to them directly they have been friends since Maya was 5 and Thomas was 7." Councilwoman Maria said. "How is it that you didn't even know who your daughter's friends were?" She asked snidely. 

(Maya, I would like you and Thomas along with your younger brother to come to the council's meeting room please.) I said through the mind link so my council brothers and sisters could hear.

(Professor Smith, please excuse Maya and Thomas, they are needed here in our meeting chambers.) Zhara mind linked to their instructor. 

"We have just summoned Maya along with Thomas and your son Leonard." Alfin said. "You can hear the truth from them."

"One more thing for you to digest, the only reason Maya was brought here was so that she would be able to stay by Thomas's side. Like we said we knew they were mates so we saw no need in separating them." I said.
