I watched from the outskirts as the wolves talked amongst themselves as Benjamin came clean about what had happened all those years ago. My heart hurt because of what he had endured, but I was also nervous and uneasy about whether he was going to reveal my part in it all.
No matter how much I wanted to walk away and be done with this mess, dismantle the spell Amalia had set up blocking us from Kaitlin, something I had not expected kept me there, waiting. I felt his eyes roaming over me while Benjamin talked about the witch. I had accidentally left the bond open between us after checking to make sure he was uninjured from the earlier fighting.
