Chapter 7

I was fast asleep when I felt someone nudging me. As I slowly woke up I could hear a guy’s voice saying that we were almost to the academy. I woke up but was extremely grumpy. What! Can you blame me? I can’t wake up fast and be all rainbows and butterflies. We pull up to the huge wall, and I grumpily tell Nathan. “Now this is where the ‘gatehouse’ should be, not out in the middle of nowhere with nothing like a gate around.” The other guys start laughing, while Nathan looked at me with an arched brow. It seems like he wants to say something, but thinks better of it. Yeah, you better not mess with the moody bïtch right now, I think to myself. After we enter the gate, I get my first glimpse of the academy. The main building looks like a Scottish mansion. It is huge and has at least four floors in it. There are four other big buildings around and a huge fighting arena, kind of like the gladiator arenas. I’m in awe of this place. People are casually walking to different places. Some in groups, while others are alone. It seems like a college setting except for the different magical things happening. Take for example the group of people who are each touching the ground that is brown and dead. It suddenly becomes green and thriving. It is like a college Hogwarts. We pull up to the main building and the guys get out. Dimitri goes to help me down, but Jacob stops him. “You can’t touch her.” He says while glaring at me. Ok, now I’ve had it. The information overload, the new world, four strange men that I’ve just met, my powers and change of look, and now this pathetic excuse for a man. I’m tired, grumpy, and by now an all-around bïtch. “You may think that you are protecting them from big bad me, but you aren’t. Jacob you are being an all-round doüche, and I don’t appreciate it. I feel sorry for your mate because she is getting an unfeeling A-hõle for a mate. You have officially pushed yourself away from me. I don’t have the time nor the energy to deal with your bûllshït anymore.” I shout at Jacob. “I no long want anything to do with you, and I break all ties to you. You are no longer bound by me. I hope that this makes you as happy as you were when we first met. Goodbye, Jacob.” I say this last part with tears running down my face. I didn’t know where to go after getting out of the car, but I knew that I had to get away from Jacob, so I walked up the stairs to the entrance of the academy. I can feel Jacobs eyes following me, but I’m not sure why. “What have you done?” Screams Damon. I turn around when I hear his voice. “She broke the protection bond between us because of you! If she gets hurt the it will be on your head.” Storms Nathan to Jacob. I then see Dimitri and Damon just looking at him with shock and disappointment. I decide that it was time to get into the academy, so I open the large entry door and welcome the wonderful sent of lemon. I walk up to the front desk and see a beautiful woman working there. “Hello, my name is Stacy. How can I help you today?” She asks. “I need to see the dean, please.” I tell her. “What she means is we need to see the Headmaster, please.” Says Damon coming up behind me. I look up at him, and I hope that Jacob didn’t come with him. “What is this in regards to?” Asks Stacy. She is eying me like she is trying to figure me out. She isn’t being rude or judgemental, she seems like she is trying to assess if she can help me. I’m actually quite impressed… she hasn’t thrown herself at the guys or even tried to flirt with them. She seems more concerned with me. “A possible new addition to our academy.” Says Dimitri. “We’d like to talk it over with the Headmaster to see what he’d like to do.” Says Nathan. I refuse to look around because I know that Jacob has to be here, and I’m so done with him. Stacy looks at me and she goes around the desk so that she is right in front of me. “I don’t know what’s going on, but you look completely dead on your feet. Follow me, and I’ll get you to the Headmaster’s office. Once you’re there I’ll make some tea for you and get you to feeling better. How does that sound?” She says this with a kind and friendly voice. “Thank you so much! You are a wonderful and gracious person! It has been a long trying day today for sure.” I respond to her. We all move to go to the Headmaster’s office, when Stacy grabs my hand and leads me to the front of the group. I follow her to the office door and hope that I’m doing the right thing. Stacy knocks on the door and after the “come in” from a voice inside, she opens the door and leads us all in. Inside is a huge desk with several chairs on one side and the Headmaster sitting on the other side. He looks only twenty-five although he does seem stern and wise for how old he seems. “Ah, BlueMoon! How has the patrols going?” He thunders with a smile on his face. His voice is loud and deep. “They have been well, but we found something, or rather someone.” Says Nathan. He seems to be the one in charge. “Oh? What happened?” Asks the Headmaster. “I was doing my morning patrols when I found an unknown and unconscious woman. I brought her into the gatehouse as soon as I saw that she had wounds all over her. I then called the guys and they helped me get her healed.” Said Dimitri. “Well, that is wonderful news that she is doing better. Have you found out from her who attacked her?” The Headmaster questioned. “That is the tricky part, she lost her memories due to the trauma and the many different injuries. The only thing she remembers is her name.” Damon tells the Headmaster. Stacy gasps and looks at me with pity after hearing what was going on. “How long has she been in your care?” She asks. “I found her this morning by the border.” Says Dimitri. She suddenly jumps up startling the Headmaster and the guys, “She needs to get into a room as soon as possible. Has she even eaten today?” She asks. “She was injured this morning or even last night and she has been up since the guys healed her so she has to be dead on her feet. What kind of hospitality does this show? She is a guest and you each need to apologize immediately for your lack.” Stacy demands. The BlueMoon pack look at each other and sheepishly look at Stacy. “We are sorry, we didn’t think of any of that. We were first concerned with her injuries, and then with whether or not she was a threat. Once we found out that her memories were gone, we came here.” Says Jacob. Stacy just shakes her head at the guys. She turns to me and says, “A bed, food and some warm tea should help you get settled so that you can think better.” I’m looking at her with wonder… Who would’ve thought that this beautiful, woman would be defending me. After Jacob, I’m so relieved that I have someone whom I can be friends with. The Headmaster quickly agrees and then says that I can stay in a guest room until in the morning. Once I’ve rested then he said that we’ll figure out my situation. Stacy grabs my hand and starts to take me to my room when Dimitri suddenly says, “We’ll see you in the morning, Maya. Rest well.” I look at him and then the others. “Thank you for everything.” I told them while avoiding looking too long at any one of them. I notice a movement and look to see Jacob inching towards me. I quickly squeeze Stacy’s hand and turn my back to the guys. I need to start my life and my new journey here at the academy. I cannot have the guys around all the time so I need to learn to stand on my own feet. I have a ton of work to do as far as learning about this world, learning my place in it, and finding out why I’m in danger. Will I be able to make it or will I trust the wrong people?
