As I was waiting for his next move, he was studying me like a weird science project. I wondered if now would be a good time to make my move but to be honest I said I was a survivor not a fighter. I have never had any self defense classes or anything. The only thing I knew about fighting is what my brothers taught me and what I've seen in movies... not a great fighting resume for sure.
Do I risk tipping my hand that I'm not a weak woman that will accept anything or do I wait? Since he hasn't started for me I figure I can wait him out a bit. He hasn't called for the other nut jobs so maybe he is just going to wait to get them.
Once again my luck and my pathetic fate didn't allow for it. Three guys all looking different show up. I don't know how he called them as he didn't use any phone that I could see.
There is a blond guy with brown eyes and a boy next door look to him, a guy with black hair and blue eyes that has a strong jawline and looks really buff, and a guy that has purple hair, not neon but a silvery purple, and eyes that are a shade darker than silver. The guy with purple hair has sharp features but his eyes seem kind.
The guys are now staring at me, and I feel like there is a pull from each of them. A bit of a shift towards them that makes me nervous. I once again wait for their move.
“Wow, you didn't say that she was gorgeous Dimitri." Stated the blond guy. He says this while checking me out completely. “I was more concerned with if she was a safety risk than her looks, Jacob." Says Dimitri.
By now I'm fuming, how dare they talk about me right in front of me like I'm not there or I don't exist. “She is standing right here and can hear you. I'm so far not impressed." I said with a raised eyebrow and folded arms. I did tell you that my mouth always got me into trouble and here is one of those examples.
“Who are you to speak to us in that way? We are to be respected!” Says the dude with black hair. “Well if you and the goon squad are done checking me out and talking like I don't exist then I'd tell you but since they seem to not be done then I won't. Also my respect is earned and this is the first I'm seeing you. So far you've looked down on me and talked like I'm not here so why would I respect you?" I ask this and as I'm saying it I know that I should've kept my mouth shut.
“Goon squad?" Says the guy with what looked to be purple hair. I wonder how long he sat in a salon chair to get it that color? I thought. Oh, right bad time for another rabbit hole of thoughts.
“Well yes, I know Dimitri but since I don't know any of your names I will either call you the goon squad or Tweedle Dee, Tweedle Dum, and Tweedle Two." I say this while laughing. I'm also remembering to keep my distance and also keep my eye on the door. I already have very slim odds, and I don't need a complete dooms day scenario. Any more people show up and it will be dooms day for me.
“Are you seeing this?" Asks the blond to the other guys. “Look at her body posture and the way she is assessing the situation. She seems to have a plan. Which element did you say she was Dimitri?"
“I thought earth and water but she is showing signs of them all. Well besides control of her mouth, she can't seem to stop being sarcastic and snarky." As Dimitri is saying this I'm thinking of different way to hurt the traitor.
“Well what do we do now?" Asks the purple haired dude. “It's obvious that she is a danger to our kind so we should throw her in the dungeons and see what the kings wish to do with her." Stated the môron with black hair.
I knew that my waiting time was over as they were debating on what to do with me. Thankfully they were not in agreement so they became involved in the argument and forgot to keep an eye on me. I slowly moved towards the door. As I got to the door there was a creaking sound and all the guys looked at me. I had kept my eyes partially on them so I knew when the started at me.
The first guy to reach me was Dimitri. I bet he was sorry that he got there first... I kicked him in the groin, and he was down for the count. The dude with purple hair was able to stop as he saw Dimitri go down but the other two couldn't.
I made my hand into a fist remembering what my brothers told me about keeping my thumb out of the fist. I the landed a punch in the nose to the blond guy. Man, that hurt like a bîch! My brothers never said that it'd hurt so bad! I thought. As he was heading towards me at a fast pace, he was hit harder than I could have normally hit and he went down as well. The black haired guy, who was completely an A-hole, seemed to know what he was doing and slid behind me. I took this opportunity to throw my body backwards as hard as I could. Note to self... movies make stuff look easy and that it doesn't hurt... that is an extreme lie. I hurts so bad! We're my next thoughts, though I was proud of myself for knocking down three of the four guys. Three of the four so far so good! I thought. He really wasn't expecting that. The back of my head hit him hard and he was out.
By this time I was out of ideas, and I still had one guy to go. I remember that there was an end table beside the door and so I grabbed it, ran to the last guy and swung as hard as I could. The purple haired guy was out. Done but not an easy task. I thought to myself. I then ran for all I had.
The door was to the outside so I looked around for a second and saw a forest. I ran as fast as I could and made several different routes as I knew this would confuse them if they tried to find me. I then went and climbed a huge tree as high as I could so the leaves would cover me.
As I waited in the tree for evening, I looked around to figure out where I was. I couldn't be in Amarillo due to the fact that they don't have a forest and definitely don't have trees this big.
The forest seemed off as it was dense but gave a good vibe and not a scary one. I'm not much for the great outdoors, but I could see myself living right where I was at which was strange since I enjoy all of the modern technology and prefer to not live off the land.
The trees where not any that I've seen before but that could be once again that I'm not used to the great outdoors. It started to get extremely weird when I noticed an apple on a branch. I know what apple trees look like and this isn't one of them. I also found it strange that I had been thinking that I wanted an apple and there one was. I know magic doesn't exist and I'm definitely no Hermine so I chalk it up as another unexplained instance on my very large list of them.
The wind whipped through the trees and it was like an old friend which is weird because the only wind I've experienced was harsh and brutal. Kansas wind will do that for you.
The next thing I noticed was that I was completely comfortable in the tree. Who in their right minds are comfortable in a tree, but I was. I was trying to figure out where I was when I heard the guys on the forest floor below me. Will they find me? If so will I end up in the dungeons?
