It's my 18th Birthday!!!! I shot up from my pillow I am so happy to be able to shift into my wolf for the first time. Though I will only have a short amount of time to get to know her before my shift, I am still super happy. "I am too" A voice rang through my head. I nearly jump out of my skin. "Sorry, I wasn't trying to startle you" She chuckled. "It's okay" I chuckled "I just wasn't expecting you so early" "oh, I didn't know I had a appointment with you" She said sarcastically. I rolled my eyes and got out of bed. "I saw that" She pointed with her paw and retreated to the back of my head. I bust out laughing and walked into the bathroom. I brushed my teeth before I let my long black curly hair down and jumped in the shower. Using the new shampoo and body wash my auntie Laiya sent me from over seas. It smelled of mixed fruit and I was in love. Afterwards I did my birthday make up for the day and put on one of my many new outfits I bought at the mall with my best friend, Lana yesterday. It's an all black crop top with a multicolored dragon circling around the shirt. It stops right above my bellybutton, matched with some black high waist jean shorts and some new multicolored shoes. I blow dried my hair out, allowing it to naturally curl, then I put it in a cute up due with some Japanese hair clips that look like chop sticks. I checked myself out in the mirror and I almost didn't recognize myself. I smiled brightly. "D**n we look good, With our chocolate skin glowing like this. I'm sure our mate would want us if we run into him. Unlike any other times you've dressed." She pounced around. "How would you even know how I dressed any other time?" I rolled my eyes while twirling in the mirror. Thankful for my abs, a** and nice coke body. "I'm apart of you, I can see all your memories" She replied rolling her eyes back at me. "Oh, yeah" I chuckled. I looked at the clock and seen that it was way past the time I needed to meet Lana downstairs. I grabbed my backpack and ran down the stairs. "Happy Birthday" My parents rushed me and I nearly fell. "Thank you" I said trying to breathe. "Let me get some birthday love" Lana said from behind them and we all laughed. My parents opened up and made room for Lana, and now I'm really squished. "Ok, Ok. Your going to make us late" "Ok. squirt" My dad says as he was about to ruffle my hair but Lana caught his arm. "Not today Mr. Patterson" He looks at her confused and then back at my hair. He made an O shape with his mouth and smiled. "Plus the Alpha is giving us a choice today.." "And what choice is that?" Mrs. Patterson stood there with her arms crossed and her eyebrow raised. I looked at Lana sideways as she bit her lip, knowing she screwed up. "A free day mom" I confessed "Oh no, no, no. I know what that means!" I gave her a confused look.. "Boys!!" My dad started shaking his head, laughing. "She's only saying that because when we was giving a free day during our days.." He chuckled "She was with me" He busted out laughing and my mom smacked his arm. Making him come to a halt and then start laughing again. Lana and I just stood there with our mouths open. "Come on, let's get some food in your bellies before you leave" she says, pushing us towards the kitchen. Rolling her eyes at my dad who was still laughing. There were pancakes, bagels, fried eggs, scrambled eggs, turkey bacon, strawberries and sliced pineapples. My dad immediately kissed my mom, thanking her as he sat down and started fixing his plate. "Mom, how did you get all of this?" I mean I know we live a comfortable life but this is way over the food budget we go by every two weeks. "The kings upped our pay a month ago. Isn't he generous?" She smiled brightly. I was shocked to say the least, the king never ups anyone pay. "Yeah, very" I said looking at them strangely "Oh, don't be like that. He's obviously in a good mood every year since his daughter was born and fells like gifting us gifts each year before her birthday. And.. this year was our salaries being raised." She shrugged her shoulders. "Enjoy" Was all my father said while stuffing his face some more. I sat down, letting the suspicion go but something inside kelp tugging at me. Giving me a feeling that it's bigger than what its made out to be. We finished and headed out for school, saying our goodbyes to my parents. "So are you excited about the ceremony? and let me add that you look d**n good" Lana yelped. She shifted the last ceremony. She has a Jade wolf with golden sparks dancing around her fur. She carried the mark of the Beta of the Phoenix Wolf but she was worried because she didn't know if she would get along with Flora. She disliked her just as much as I did. We both believe that it is not her but Lana thinks it's me and I think it's someone else out there who was conceived and hidden. "Thank you" I smiled brightly "and yes, I'm more excited to see what my wolf looks like" "Me too" She agreed "What's your wolf name? Kimi wants to know and so do I" She bit her lip ready to hear it. "I don't know" Her face frowned "What?" She stopped us "She haven't told me, yet." I protested. "You didn't ask" My wolf protested against me and I thought we was on the same side. "I would guess not but I didn't think I needed to since you appeared in my head. Not the other way around." I scoffed and my wolf laughed. "I can see how you would think that. Let's just call it fair." I nodded my head. "So what's your name?" I asked "Aubrei" she said while retreating back into the depts of my mind. "Aubrei" I said out loud, as I realized Lana was just standing there with her hand on her hip. Waiting for me to finish up my conversation with my wolf. "That's a pretty name" She smiled, she grabbed my arm and we walked to school laughing about how I needed to multitask when my wolf was communicating with me. She said I looked like a deer in the headlights. When we got to the school everyone was running around like chickens with their head cut off. For the ceremony and of course it's the Alpha daughters birthday but It's never this serious and this many people. It's like all cursed packs are here to witness the Alpha daughter shift. Everyone will be there to see her wolf. In 2 days time there will be a huge ceremony for all wolves that are 18 and ready to shift. Our pack is different from others. You see we only have two ceremonies a year. Some wolves turn 18 months before the ceremony but they are unable to shift. They can communicate with their wolves and gain a stronger bond but no shift until the ceremony. Why is that? Let me tell you a story. ( 10,000 years ago, there were 7 Phoenix warriors who were gifted by the moon goddess with different abilities and purposes. One day, a wolf named Malador shifted out of defense on his 18th birthday unsupervised and half dead from the attacks of his bullies. Malador was found by an evil wizard who saw Malador true power. The wizard manipulated Malador into taking more power to destroy his past bullies. Malador and the Wizard worked hand and hand to take a piece of the 7 Phoenix powers for themselves. Combining them into one. The 7 Phoenix warriors who were ambushed had come together to combine their powers, defeat the Wizards and to lay Malador to rest. For he could not be killed because the powers he stole unlocked his in return and gave him immortality. They couldn't remove his power and so they locked him in a eternal prison away from the outside world but have him an opening to see it grow above him. The 7 warriors were able to remove their powers from Malador but they were unable to separate them. It was too strong and has already formed into something more. All of their colors swirled together. Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, blue, indigo, and Gold dancing beautifully together. They took the surge of energy and put it into the earth, speaking a prophecy over it. This power is Strong it is the purest of all So this power belongs to the one that is called. On the night this child is born this power will disappear Staying dormant within the child until the new moon ceremony year. The year the chosen comes of age. During the shift ceremony the Phoenix wolf will awaken, The Queen is the position that would be taken pure black as the night sky with galactic colors dancing in the wolfs eye This wolf would be of pure blood and gentle love But warning, there's a lesson to be learned for this lesson will only help their powers to be earned Though they did not leave without punishing the packs of the bullies who were the starting cause of Malador rage. Only allowing them to shift for the first time during a ceremony that can only be held twice a year. Unfortunately, we are one of those packs! The Gifted Moon Pack. ) For centuries many tried to take it for themselves but failed miserably. It disappeared 18 years ago. On the day of my birthday but also Flora's birthday. Who happens to be the daughter of our pack Alpha. It's the only birthday that's known around here and so everyone assumes it's her and what makes it even worse... The Alpha and Luna received word right after they made love for the first time. Mating and Marking each other. It was like a love story everyone tells every time we even get a glimpse of her. Everybody worships her and gives her anything she wants. You would think she would be grateful but she's just a stuck up brat, who is one of my biggest bullies. I don't see why they think it's her. The prophecy clearly states that she would need to be of gentle love and there's nothing gentle about the walking diva. Nobody knows this but we share the same birthday. Though I doubt it's me.... I was born by two omegas, I don't have the strength to do what the prophecy says. We always only celebrated my birthday with just the three of us and my best friend, Lana. Everyone else attended the Alpha daughters grand party they throw every year since she was born. We entered the pack house using a short cut to get to the school. They decided to place it behind the pack house so if danger were to come, we would be close to the safety space. I guess that was a smart move. "EDREA!" speaking of the diva herself.
