"How could he do this?" I yelled punching the wall, putting a hole in it. I felt them mark each other, he knew her and I still had things to work out. I pace my office, thinking of ways to have some alone time with her. Fixing my mistakes so we can move forward, so we could have forever together but that's not all I wanted. I was just to ashamed to admit it out loud. I was too afraid that I didn't deserve it but what if I did? What if some how all that I ever wanted could be mine?
I sent a prayer up to this Moon Goddess I've heard some of the wolves in my Kingdom mentioned. I prayed to her because I knew that she was their Creator and because I never knew who my parents prayed to. I was too young to remember and my uncle made sure he burned that piece of knowledge.
I was only able to learn the ways of the Kingdom by some old runes that lay in a cave on the outskirts of the Kingdom. It tells stories of the old rulers of this very Kingdom. The Kingdom they once called The Almighty Kingdom but the Almighty Kingdom wasn't Almighty anymore. They prayed to the creator of the universe. Who gave them gifts and power and pleasures beyond the heavens and something must've taken away their power when they killed my uncle's Mate.
I know that much because the Witch said so, she said that my family killed themselves. Thinking they were free from karma and that nothing could touch them after doing such horrible things to an angel sent to bring ultimate prosperity to them. I tried to connect with whatever my family connected with but nothing, I tried everything. The cave speaks prophecy, A child, birth of a love, one that only comes from two people achieving unconditional love.
For some reason I knew the prophecy was mine, I knew I had to find my mate and when I did I promised myself that I would do anything to keep her. That I would fight against the tide to keep her safe. Nothing in this world was going to stop me from that, not a curse and sure not that other mate of hers.
I growled and slammed my fist against my desk causing everything to fall off it. Including the empty glass I once had filled with bourbon, it shattered onto the ground and I just looked at it. There was a sudden knock at the door and I moved around my desk.
"Come in" I say
"Hey, can we talk?" Edrea asks, looking concerned.
