The love dilemma
At first I convinced myself that, ‘Romeo And Juliet,’ was just a fictional romanticised tale that could never have occurred in real life. Truly, everyone is like biblical Thomas, since after a touch of Jesus’ flesh did he believe.
A geek was I as everyone else named me except myself.I got the name when I first scored an A in every subject except the Kiswahili language. Joining Bar Kowino mixed high-school was as easy as joining every other school and also as challenging once enrolled as the rest. Bullying was rampant and bullies were bigger and senior students to us who just joined.
Due to my very young age and tiny-sized body, no one, including myself feared and respected me. Everyone looking at me always saw a fearful helpless student and treated me as a punching bag whenever they wanted to exercise. It took time to earn the school’s respect which I finally did at the announcement of the first exam results we ever had in high-school, but at the end of term.
Being the first student to beat the entire 400 students of the entire form 1 class, followed by two grades less, I managed to earn first, the respect of the teachers, then my fellow students. This means that after that day, everything ran smoothly for me in form 1 till we opened school for the following year which was our form two.
