WINNIE FELT HER nerves tighten as she opened her cabin door, Ezra standing behind her. He had refused to leave her side for even a minute, insisting on following her to her cabin to get what she needed to stay at his place. However, she still thought it was a bad idea.
“Ezra, Mattox is here for you,” she told him. “What do you think will happen when he discovers I’m not where I need to be, and instead, I’m at your place? It might stir things up faster. We need time to locate him before he causes trouble and hurts people.”
