“Can I make you a coffee?” I asked.
Her blue eyes looked cautiously around the room. She had no idea what she was, but I knew eventually she’d start to experience sharper vision and hearing. Her senses would soon heighten simply from being near her kind.
She nodded. “Sure, I’d appreciate it.” Her voice was silky and smooth. She wasn’t afraid of me which was a good sign, but she was weary and that made Hunter growl.
I couldn’t blame her.
I simply nodded and turned away from her and reached the top cabinet for a mug. I stuck a new pod into the Keurig and waited for her coffee to brew.
She tried to hold back her shiver. I linked my Delta to bring her a blanket and to get the fireplace started for her.
I pulled out the cream and sugar. I didn’t know what she liked and how she liked it, but I honestly couldn’t wait to find out.
