| West Plains, Axuuhh Continent |
After they bid their farewell, they began their journey, talking to one another before leaving to boost one another's ease.
So this is the West Plains, we've been walking for a few hours and we're just covering a fraction of the Continent.
Mina said as she is looking over the map she has.
It's pretty crazy to think that this world is even bigger than the World of Dura, after I saw it, it's crazily different.
Nico said, following Mina leading the way.
At first, I thought it's similar but I remembered that the other places in the Dura World are realms within it, so those places don't count as scale, just like when you try to add heaven as part of the world's scale.
Mina said as she gave the map to Nico.
It doesn't make a lot of sense if it was, since it doesn't change the fact that every realm, be it heaven or hell, still subsides in the same space of that world since the Midgard will always be the main realm of any world that exists in this universe.
Nico said as he took the map from Mina.
He looks at it again as they are strolling.
He did his research well, or has he already know this ever since.
Mina thought.
They then continued their stroll, Nico put the world map that he owns, Mina forgot to bring her own so they're relying on Nico's.
This atmosphere feels so professional that it sickens and pressures me, I should at least be talkative, but she is somehow telling me with her presence that she doesn't want that, I'll give it a shot, I'm not very hopeful.
Nico thought.
Can I ask something, Mina?
Nico asked.
So long as it is appropriate, not like I will kill you or anything, besides, you're already asking, right?
Mina said, allowing.
Because that's what I kinda feel like, you're emitting such an aura now that we're on a mission together.
Nico said, emphasizing.
He's making this awkward for both of us.
Mina thought.
What is it?
Mina asked as she looks back at Nico.
Well...
Nico thought, withdrawing.
Never mind, it's pointless now.
Nico said.
This guy.
Mina thought.
As Mina was about to went back to walking, she sensed the monster that is in full speed onto her.
Damn it! I was distracted by Nico!
Mina thought, surprised as the monster jumps on her.
Okay, she's getting jumped on!
Nico thought as he took his right shield and threw it with his left arm.
*bang*
His shield shoved the monster away from Mina as she took her small scythe from its holder.
Appreciate that if it's earlier!
Mina said as she transforms her small scythe bigger.
She then charges forward to fight the monster.
It feels bad, man...
Nico thought, he then took the shield that magnetized back to his right arm.
He then rushed in to help her after he noticed more monsters are incoming.
After Mina finishes off the other one, the next monster that is in the distance discharged a fire projectile at her, Nico then threw his left shield that was retracted from his left arm.
His left shield then blocked the fire projectile that almost hit Mina, the shield then magnetized to Nico's left arm afterward.
Cover me, Nico, I'm going in!
Mina said.
Of course!
Nico said.
Obviously, since I'm the shielder between us, isn't she a mage? Why is she using her scythe if we can just kill them effortlessly?
Nico thought.
Mina then killed the other monsters while Nico helps her, unknowingly, they fought in sync without the both of them knowing.
That's a pretty good monster clearing, this area may be vast and clean, stealthy monsters like this are a pain sometimes.
Nico said as he magnetizes his shield back after the monster clearing.
This is a given for places like this, no one will dwell in this area other than them since they blend in perfectly in these kinds of areas, they're strong but they aren't very tough which isn't surprising.
Mina said as she took out her scythe that is buried in the monster's flesh.
Seeing that they realized that they're beyond weaker than any of the monsters that they were inhabiting before, they all ran over here, right?
Nico said, continuing Mina's sentence.
He just said that he's getting troubled by this? He kind of implied he didn't know.
Mina thought as she shrunk her scythe and put it inside its holder.
Anyway, let's get going.
Mina said as she began walking.
She could've at least complimented me on that! That took a toll on my thinking brain! Whatever, it's as if I'm just troubling myself with trying to impress someone who never will be.
Nico thought.
Nico then followed along to her, continuing their travel onto their mission.
After a few hours, while they're traveling, Nico brought out a snack to munch on on the way.
Are you eating a milk-flavored cookie?
Mina asked after she sensed what Nico is eating.
What? You smelled it? Is eating on the way not allowed?
Nico asked as he munches on the cookies.
I was expecting a bit of maturity in this mission, but he's childish through and through.
Mina thought.
Do you want some? I baked more than I needed since they're my energy snacks, also since my storage ring can preserve the freshness of any food, here.
Nico said, he then took a pouch of cookies in his storage ring.
Unknowingly, Nico gave Mina some cookies, away from the idea of impressing her.
So you know how to bake too? I don't expect someone like you to be a baker, do you also cook too?
Mina asked as she grabs the pouch of cookies that Nico handed over.
Did I just impress her unconsciously?
Nico thought, asking himself.
They then ate the cookies on the way.
I am not an expert at cooking or baking, I'm good enough that I don't need someone to cook for me.
Nico said, he munched on more cookies until he finishes a bag of them.
It's pretty good, better than an average baker, he said he isn't an expert, now I want to know more, really, though I'm not saying or asking him that.
Mina thought, complimenting Nico's cookies in her head.
They then ate some cookies on the way, Nico ate 2 bags of cookies, while Mina savored the one bag of cookies she had.
After a few more hours, they arrived at the area where the harbor to the Grand Kingdom is located.
I think we need to move around this arc to head to the South part of the continent since right now we're at the West part of the continent, far away from where we need to go.
Nico said while looking at his map.
Then let's go around it, this harbor goes to the Grand Kingdom, we'll just waste time even if we use the ship there.
Mina said, she then began walking around.
I wanna see this Grand Kingdom, but she's right, we'll waste time even if we use the ship.
Nico thought.
What's the Grand Kingdom look like? Is it just like any kingdom but like... grander?
Nico asked.
True, it is just a bigger and grander rendition of a kingdom, Azeed said he wants to go on a vacation there someday since there's a lot for us to explore there.
Mina said.
Nico then puts his map in his storage ring and then hops onto Mina's side.
He wants us to explore a kingdom but we didn't even have a chance to explore the Demon Kingdom, I wanted to explore the place badly when I saw a full view above the kingdom castle there.
Nico said.
We'll get our chance soon, Azeed already told us the reason why, right?
Mina said, asking Nico.
He did, but I'm pissed about it, still!
Nico said, complaining more.
A kid through and through.
Mina thought.
After a few hours of traveling, they come across an abandoned village.
This place?
Mina thought as she enters the village.
Nico was skeptical about the village that they enter, he then took out the map.
This place is totally wiped out of the map, this is the first time I've been in any abandoned settlement.
Nico said while looking at the map.
This village must've been taken down many years ago, seeing as the molds and grasses that are growing here are this long, what's the name of the village?
Mina said, asking Nico as she investigates the area of the road.
Nico then looked around the entrance they've entered, he then saw a name in the wooden sign.
Howen Village, it doesn't roll off the tongue.
Nico red the sign.
It doesn't have to be, this place is already dead anyway.
Mina said as she finishes examining the area.
When Nico left the abandoned village to look at the entrance name poster, he dodged a shuriken attack.
What the heck?!
Nico thought, surprised.
Nico, we have some assailants surrounding us!
Mina told Nico.
Not like I didn't notice it, I guess they're ninjas, they threw a shuriken and all that.
Nico said, he then went to Mina's side with his right shield ready.
Mina also took out her scythe.
Intruder of this domain, we forbid you to leave, you either die, or you have to kill us to make us let you go, none have escaped this domain unless you have what it takes.
The ninjas told them, they all then appeared through the shadows in the buildings.
Just get this over with, we're very busy, just like you guys are!
Nico shouted.
Very well, kill them.
The ninjas then rushed them.
They then fought the two of them, due to their numbers, Nico and Mina took longer than usual.
Just like the monsters, they didn't have any issues taking them down.
This is very quick-winded, I had more trouble on monsters than you guys, I'm disappointed, actually.
Nico said, he then wiped off the blood in his shield.
I only noticed that Nico's shields have blades around them to kill his enemies easier, they're not as sharp as the blades in my scythe, but Nico's strength compensates it fairly, which is impressive in it of itself.
Mina thought, she then puts her scythe back in.
Let's go, this place now reeks of blood.
Mina said.
They then left the abandoned village.
When they left the village, more assailants are waiting for them, not just ninjas, even warriors.
Is there a way for us to not shed blood, we're just passing through? We don't mean any harm.
Nico asked, requesting the assailants.
It's your death anyway, not ours.
Mina said.
Way to be humble to them.
Nico thought.
How have passed through there alive? The ones that enter there have never left.
The warriors asked.
Even our brothers never came back when they entered there, even a group of our brothers never returned.
The ninjas said.
It all makes sense now.
Nico thought.
The ones that entered this abandoned village get their bodies trapped and their souls getting eaten by the monster inside, their bodies became slaves for the one that truly abducted them.
We don't know what happened in there, we only encountered monsters on our way and we killed them, give us a way, we do not want to continue this conversation as we aren't important to it.
Mina said, requesting them.
They then were given way, none bothered them.
She handled that perfectly.
Nico thought.
When they left the crowd, they continued their travel to the South part of the Axuuhh Continent.
Are we not gonna talk about that village? We basically killed some of their relatives there, not like it bothers me but, what about you?
Nico asked.
They're basically zombies, slaves to the actual monster that took them away from those people, personally, I don't care for it, but if I did, which I wish I do, I'll kill that monster in a heartbeat.
Mina said.
Right, she has a different kind of heart, a heart that belongs to Azeed only.
Nico thought.
They then continued their journey.
