Lost and Found a Novel by Gee

Yuna's POV " It's not you.. It's me." Those are the last words my now 'ex-boyfriend' told me a few minutes ago that left me stunned for a moment. I glanced at my phone as I ended the call. I never thought I would hear those words in reality, cause I only hear those in movies. To be honest, I wasn't hurt at all when he said that. At some point, that is what I've been waiting to hear for months now. I just accepted that the person that he is now is different to the person I met before. Our lives have been different since he moved to another city for his work. We just grew apart and that's the saddest thing that's gonna happen in a relationship. It's already 2:30 p.m. I have a few more hours left at work. I'm planning to do groceries after my shift. You know, sometimes grocery shopping relieves my stress. I guess it's one of the enjoyable parts of having an independent life. I didn't finish college because my mom couldn't pay for my college. She's with her new family, so basically I have been living by myself for years now. She and my father divorced when I was a kid because she said my dad became a drug addict. I carefully put the last order on the tray and headed to the table where a redheaded woman was staring at the window. "Hi! Here's your spicy tuna roll and draft beer." As I served her order, the woman with puffy eyes stared at me like she was waiting for this moment her whole life. "Thank you!" She said and immediately grabs her chopsticks and eats the sushi rolls. I smiled a little, sometimes good food really helps. I bet she's also having an amazing day like me. (kidding) I walked to my locker, took off my uniform and changed. I put on my jeans and a white top that showed a bit of my skin because I didn't have time to find other clothes before going to work, as I slipped on my red chucks, I grabbed my bag and checked my phone. "Oki it's 4:30 p.m. aight i need to go now. It's been a long day for me. Thanks today!" I said to Oki. "Take care Yuna! I'll see you next week!" he replied. I waved good bye to Oki. He's the owner of the restaurant. Oki's a Japanese American. He's like a father to us. He's an old man that really loves his wife and has beautiful kids. I sighed and went to the parking lot. Every time I stared at my car I always hoped that it wouldn't give up. You know, because she's freaking old and I can't afford to buy a new one. Besides, it's still doing its job! I started my car and turned the radio on "Oops I did it again by: Britney Spears". As I reached the supermarket, I found a parking spot behind the black Audi R8. And I think it's the latest one. I parked and took a look at myself in the mirror, realizing I haven't been paying attention to my looks lately. I saw my dark gray eyes looking tired as I combed my messy short brown hair. That's the thing when someone breaks up with you, you start having these random insecurities you didn't have before. I took my make-up purse and put on some lip balm, smiled and said "Its gonna be okay" to myself. I went inside the supermarket and grabbed a cart. I passed the canned goods section to the beverage corner when I heard a woman talking on her phone. "Are you f*****g kidding me? I'm with him right now. Baby I might get caught. We're gonna have company dinner at Briss Hotel. I'll see you there tomorrow." said the woman. " What the hell?" were the only words that came into my mind as soon as I heard it. I go through the beverages and grab a bottle of wine because I just feel like having a glass of shiraz tonight. and I saw ice creams and decided to grab the last 'B&J's Triple caramel chunk' but the woman's hand touched the tub too. We looked at each other.. I just gave her my: 'This.is.the.last.one.and.I'm.having.a .bad.day.today.so.there's.no.way.I'm.gonna.give.it.to.you.' look and she just gave me her "You're.not.gonna.get.this.This.is.mine.for.sure.so.give.up.woman " look and we stared at each other for 15 seconds without blinking. A tall, good looking man walked up behind her and looked at me. He raised his eyebrows and gave us "What.the.freaking.hell.is.going.on?" look. I realized they were a couple and they both looked good. The blonde woman has striking blue eyes that match her necklace, and a slim curvy body like the Victoria's Secret model with a Kardashian attitude and the guy behind her looks British-American and has tanned skin. He could be a model in that body. "I touched it first, so let it go." the woman with Barbie hair told me as she tightened her grip on the tub. "Excuse me? "I stared at her. I remember the voice of that woman talking on her phone a while ago. I noticed that it was the same voice as the woman in front of me right now and I just had enough bullshit today, so I decided to say to her "You better not be late for your company dinner tomorrow at Briss." smiling at her. Her eyes were shocked and I could tell that she looked pale at that moment, That she wanted to thank her red lipstick. I went to the cashier and paid for my groceries. There's one thing for sure: I'll be enjoying my tub of 'triple caramel chunk' tonight.
