Chapter 1
HAELENA
My eyes burned with unshed tears as I watched the ambulance doors slam shut around the almost lifeless omega girl.
She had thrown herself from the third floor.
Months of relentless bullying—of being mocked, shoved aside, and treated like she was less than everyone else simply because she was an omega had finally broken her.
The flashing red lights disappeared through the school gates, leaving behind a crowd that whispered, stared… and would probably move on by the next minute as if nothing had happened.
My body felt numb, colder than the winter breeze sweeping across the corridor,
I understood her, more than anyone ever could.
Countless times, I had climbed to the highest floor of that same building, staring over the edge and wondering if one step would finally end the misery.
Especially back when the three heirs of my pack—the infamous Alpha triplets—still attended this school some years ago,
They had turned my life into a nightmare. Every day was another violent humiliation. Another reminder that I was a traitor’s daughter, a useless omega and that I didn’t belong.
When they left abroad for their advanced studies, I foolishly believed things would get better, I couldn’t have been more wrong.
“Hi, pretty Haelena.” The familiar voice sent a chill down my spine. My heart dropped before I even turned around.
Jenna—the Beta’s daughter—stood behind me with her two loyal shadows, smug smiles already curling across their faces.
She stepped closer until I could feel her breath, then rested a hand lightly on my shoulder. It looked almost friendly but it wasn't.
Tilting her head, she smiled sweetly.
“Are you thinking of jumping too?” she asked, glancing toward the building where the omega had fallen. “You could always finish what she started.”
I shot her a cold glare, my jaw tightening. She had helped bully that girl until she saw death as her only escape.
And now she was smiling, it made my stomach churn… But I knew better than to speak, One wrong word was all it took.
Before I could even look away, Jenna’s fingers tangled violently in my hair.
She yanked so hard a sharp cry caught in my throat as pain ripped across my scalp.
At the same time, one of the girls behind her drove the toe of her boot into the back of my knee, My leg buckled.
I crashed onto the tiled floor, my forehead striking the hard surface with a sickening thud. Pain exploded through my skull, leaving my ears ringing.
Laughter erupted around me.
“How dare you look at me like that, you filthy omega, daughter of a traitor?” Jenna hissed, her fingers still twisted deep in my hair as she jerked my head back until my neck screamed in protest.
“I heard you told the delta cops that girl was being bullied.” One of her lackeys sauntered forward, the heel of her shoe coming down hard on my ankle.
Pain shot through my leg, I couldn’t stop the cry that escaped my lips.
“No…” I whimpered, tears blurring my vision. “I only answered the questions they asked me.”
Anything. I would say anything if she’d just move her foot.
“Oh?” Jenna’s lips curled into a cruel smile. “And what exactly did you tell them, w***e?”
She crouched before me, her nails digging painfully into my chin.
“Did you tell them we bully you too?” Her smile widened.
“That we throw your backpack around like trash?” Another girl snorted.
“Or that we use it as a used tampons bin?” Their laughter echoed through the empty hallway.
Jenna leaned closer. “Did you tell them we’re the ones who split your lip last week?”
Instinctively, my tongue brushed against the small cut hidden inside my mouth. It was the least of what they had done to me.
Compared to everything else… It was nothing.
“Answer me!” Jenna shrieked. Her palm crashed across my face with a force that sent my head snapping sideways.
The sting was instant. A metallic taste flooded my mouth.
Blood.
I swallowed hard, refusing to let it spill onto the floor.
“What?” Jenna sneered. “Cat got your tongue?”
She grabbed my jaw again, forcing my tear-filled eyes to meet hers. Then, in a pitiful imitation of my voice, she mocked,
“‘Little w***e Haelena isn’t safe either… Please help me…’’
The girls burst into laughter… Each laugh cut deeper than the slap.
“Please…” My voice broke into helpless sobs. “Please let me go… I beg you.” Jenna’s smile disappeared.
Her eyes turned cold. She tightened her grip on my jaw until I thought it would c***k.
“Listen carefully, bitch.” Her voice dropped to a whisper that somehow frightened me more than her shouting.
“No one is coming to save you.” She released my face only to shove me backward onto the floor.
“You’re nothing but a lowly omega orphan. Daughter of a f*****g traitor”
“A servant.” “A slave.”
She looked me up and down with open disgust.
“Besides, whatever reputation your father once had died with him the moment he was branded a f*****g traitor.
And just because the Supreme Alpha’s family pitied his orphaned daughter enough to let you scrub their floors as a lowly maid doesn’t change what you are.”
“You’re still nothing but a worthless omega.”
She bent down until her lips were inches from my ear. I hate when she speaks about my father, I hate to remember him like that, I hate to hear the word traitor, my father was no traitor.
“It only means you’ve found a more luxurious place to be beneath everyone else.”
“And when their triplet heirs come back?” Jenna drawled. She let the words hang between us. My heart lurched violently against my ribs.
The Bloodworth Triplets.
The future Supreme Alphas of the Moon Crest Pack.
Alpha Logan. Alpha Samael. Alpha Cullen.
Just hearing their names dragged me back into years of terror I had tried so desperately to bury.
Jenna caught the fear that flashed across my face and smiled wider.
“Oh, look at that.” She laughed softly. “You’re still terrified of them.” She crouched in front of me again, her voice dropping into a cruel whisper.
“When they return, you’ll wish you were that cowardly omega and you had succeeded, Her fingers tightened around my jaw.
“She only had to jump from the third floor and break her spine.” She leaned even closer, her eyes glittering with malice. “You?”
A cold smile spread across her lips.
“You’ll bleed to death long before any other delta cop gets the chance to ask you for another statement.” She patted my cheek mockingly.
“Oh… and in case you were hoping to save us with your little eyewitness account…” Her smile turned triumphant.
“It’s already been shredded.” She said, my heart sank, What did I think? That the Delta Cops will investigate the bullying and attempted suicide of a common omega? Especially when the perpetrators are shewolves from noble families.
“Jenna!”
One of the girls suddenly shrieked, her eyes glued to her phone, the crushing weight on my ankle disappeared as Jenna and the others turned toward her.
I sucked in a shaky breath, desperately trying to ignore the throbbing pain shooting through my body.
“What is it?” Jenna snapped impatiently.
The girl looked up, practically trembling with excitement.
“A soirée!” she squealed. “An invitation just came through! Every eligible wolf in the Moon Crest Pack has been invited to the Supreme Alpha’s Mansion tonight to meet their destined mates…”
She paused dramatically, grinning from ear to ear.
“…in honor of welcoming home the Bloodworth Triplet Heirs!”
The hallway erupted into excited gasps. My own blood seemed to freeze.
The… Bloodworth triplets?
No… No.
My vision blurred for a heartbeat. They were back? After just some years…
My phone vibrated inside my pocket. With trembling fingers, I pulled it out. It was a message from Anna, one of the maids at the Bloodworth Mansion.
Get back to the mansion immediately! There are mountains of work to prepare for the welcome banquet. Luna Aekeira will skin you alive if you’re late because of school!
My stomach twisted. The triplets were really coming home.
Swallowing the lump in my throat, I pushed myself onto unsteady feet, praying I could leave before Jenna remembered I existed.
I had barely taken a step. A heavy boot slammed into my chest.
The impact knocked the breath from my lungs.
Pain exploded through my ribs as I crashed back onto the cold tiles, my heart pounding so violently I thought it had stopped altogether.
A broken gasp escaped my lips. “Leaving so soon, Haelena?” Jenna laughed.
She crouched beside me, delight dancing in her eyes.
“You heard the announcement, didn’t you?” Her smile widened into something cruel.
“Your nightmares have finally come home.” The words pierced deeper than the kick ever could.
She leaned until her lips were beside my ear. “But before you go…”
Her voice softened into a dangerous whisper. “I need one thing from you.”
She tucked a loose strand of my hair behind my ear with mock gentleness.
“You know the Pack Seer predicted that either Alpha Logan or Alpha Cullen is my destined mate.” Her eyes narrowed.
“I’ll find out which one tonight.” She paused, letting the threat settle between us.
“Until then…”
“Keep your flirtatious little face away from all three of them.” “Yes, even Alpha Samael.”
“If any one of them so much as glances at you…” Her fingernail traced lightly down my cheek.
“I’ll carve a scar so deep into that pretty face of yours that no Alpha will ever look at you again.”
She shoved my face away with enough force to make my head snap sideways before rising gracefully to her feet.
“Come on, girls!”
The three of them hurried off, laughing excitedly as they gushed about dresses, mates, and the return of the powerful Bloodworth heirs. Around us, the students quickly dispersed.
The spectacle was over, No one spared me a second glance. They all had something far more exciting to think about.
The return…
…of the Bloodworth triplets.
And all I could think about was how the worst chapter of my life had just begun again.
