The Dark Alpha

Cassia's POV "Cassia, wake up!" Jake screamed in my ear, and then I heard the door slamming behind him. "I'm up! I'm up!" I groaned, pushing myself up onto my elbow. Lifting a hazy eyelid, I squinted at the alarm clock that had interfered with my beautiful dream. 8:12am. I immediately jumped out of my be horrified. I stumbled across the white washed wooden floorboards, away from my comfy haven of fluffy blankets and pillows and towards my closet. I pulled on a grey hoodie and a pair of black leggings, and roughly tied my hair up into something that would have just passed as a ponytail, and glimpsed myself in the mirror. "Fair enough," My wolf, Riley, nodded. Now, my closet wasn't small, I think I just seemed to have a limited choice of clothing, as the only clothes I ever wore was a hoodie and tracksuit bottoms or leggings, and I really don't care, sooo... yeah. 8:16am. Okay, I have enough time to get to school. Not bad. Rushing downstairs, I waved at my parents, who were chatting with the alpha of the pack, who was Alpha Asher, and his son Andrew, future alpha of the Shadow pack. I am actually the Beta's daughter, meaning my father is Beta and my mother is female Beta, but sadly being born after my dreadfully hormonal brother, Jake, I do not get to be beta. Jake has basically turned from being one of my favourite people and when he first shifted at the age of 17, three years ago (in my opinion it was gross watching him), he decided to be your typical teenager. I, on the other hand, only just turned 17 not long ago, and I shifted, My wolf, Riley, was beautiful, a gorgeous black coat and green eyes, which sparkled like emeralds in the night. I quickly grabbed an apple and ran out of the door, jumping into the black range rover my brother was waiting in. He looked pretty much exactly like me, with all the auburn hair and green eyes, nearly wearing the same clothes most of the time as well (I mean I never really dressed like a girl anyway). We both got the green eyes from dad and mum gave us the auburn hair, which makes most people sometimes even think we were twins, but HELL NO. I wouldn't stand a day with him being my twin. He was ultra tall, being a whopping 6 foot, whereas I, sadly, was rather small, being 5 foot 4, and lucky for him, he got accepted to the basketball team and I got to stay in the shadows, but I don't mind anyway. I'm not destined for a life in the spotlight, never have been, never will be. We were nearly at school, just a looming building around the corner, with a large clock and on the main school building. Nothing unusual, apart from the fact the students were werewolves rather than humans. Outside I could see Blythe, who happened to be waving like crazy, James, Adam, and of course, the ever sarcastic, Savannah. "Chill Blythe, I can see you you know, I'm not that blind." I rolled my eyes at her.  "I know you can see me darling," she said, sighing. Then she started screaming insanely. "Ouch! Oh my god Blythe, have eardrums you know, and I will literally murder you if they burst!" Savannah shouted equally as loud as Blythe, and then after stare down (which they do a lot), Blythe stopped. "Okay," I continued. "What were you going to say, Blythe?" I asked her, contemplating whether I should kill her during next training. "OH MY GOD! There are new cute boys!" And off she was again, until James, her boyfriend, whacked her around the head.  "You should have done that in the first place man, and I wouldn't be deaf right now," Adam whispered to him. And of course, having the advantage of werewolf hearing, Blythe jumped at Adam and viciously started clawing at his face with her manicured nails. The rest of us just rolled our eyes. RING RING RING. "Yes! The bell!" Savannah exclaimed, and as if on cue, we all ran off to math class. The worst. Blythe was incredibly pretty, with your classic popular girl features - dreamy blue eyes, flawless skin, lean body, with perfectly blonde hair, and on the other hand, you had Savannah, complete opposite; She had jet black hair, piercing grey eyes and was a total rebel. The boys, James and Adam, were pretty similar. James had light brown hair, and he had a rather lean modally body, and practically golden eyes, which might not sound nice, but it suited him. Adam also had the same body type (you can see why Blythe was excited - there are literally no muscular boys here - all lanky) but the only difference between James and Adam were their eyes - Adam's eyes were a icy blue, like,  both the Jackson twins had some sort of spell their eyes casted - they made you squirm under their intensity. ____________________________  After school - 3:35pm "Jake, can you pick me up?" I asked him on the phone. "Sure, but hurry up. Mum wants us to join them in the pack meeting today." He sighed.  "Ugh, why do we have to go to the pack meeting again?" I questioned him.  "Some kind of new proposal from a pack, umm... Right! The Moon Stone pack!" "THE MOON STOONE PACK!?" I screamed into the phone. "Ow, Cass, that hurt, and yeah Moon Stone. What's wrong?" Oh my god! The Moon Stone pack? They're like the most powerful pack out there, and I heard, they've got a lot of muscly men.  "Oh, nothing, don't worry," I said, calm once again. "Since you had your screaming fit, I'm already here." Jake said. Oh, right.  When we got there, mum and dad were waiting outside for us, and quickly ushered us inside the pack meeting room. Oh god, I was right. The pack meeting room was normally very large and spacious, white walls, whiteboard, plants and stuff, but here it looked packed. I guess that's what happens when you shove loads of muscly men into one room. Right you are, genius, Riley said. Ah, shut it you sarcastic b***h, I said, rolling my eyes internally. Hm, something wasn't right. I could only sense a beta here, apart from my pack's alpha, of course. The hunk of a beta spoke up. "Alpha Asher, I am sorry as our alpha, Caden, is attending to the Luna Ball of his cousin." A shiver went down my spine when he said Caden. Ooh, nice name for a mate, Riley said. WHAT?! I screamed at her. And she disappeared. She always does the, leaving me to figure it out all by myself. When she comes back, I'll ask the pesky creature. ____________________________ After pack meeting - 6:00pm Ugh, pack meetings are tiresome. All they did was sign a contract and it took them forever. Quickly shoving food down my mouth, I ran to the beta's floor (that's right, all the higher rankings get their own floor, like alpha, beta, and gamma), rushing into my ensuite and had a quick shower. I pulled on a comfy T-shirt and crawled into my bed of blankets and pillows, and before you could say pancake (that's my favourite word, say anything and I'll murder you) I had fallen asleep.
