chapter 23

1220 Words

Mia's POV The moon hung low in the night sky, casting an eerie glow upon the dense forest surrounding me. My heart pounded like a wild stallion's hooves, matching the rhythm of my terrified steps. I felt every muscle tense as I ran, each stride pushing me further away from the danger that loomed behind me. I was exhausted as I ran deeper into the wilderness with no direction, I couldn't hear the sound of anyone running after me and I stopped to breathe. I gasped for breath as I ran, feeling both afraid and worried about my baby coming soon. The sharp pain of contractions twisted inside my body, reminding me that time was running out. I suddenly felt something wet in between my legs and my eyes widened in shock, I slowly moved my hand in between my legs and noticed my water had broken.
