Chapter 2

Mia's Pov

"Where are you going?" The guard cladded in a dark vest asked me harshly as I gulped, his eyes roamed my body until they settled on my bag while the others examined me as if I was a thief.

I couldn't say a word, I was too frozen to say anything as I'd be doomed if Lorenzo found out about anything.

"Are you going to throw the trash? If so, why are you passing that way instead of the main gate huh?" He asked harshly and I cleared my throat.

"Yeah, I'm throwing the trash but– I thought it's late and-"

"Get out from here and throw that thing away! The Alpha asked me to keep an eye on you so be fast about it."

"Yes, Derek. I will." I replied and nodded to him and to my utmost dismay and shock, he commanded the men to open the gates for me.

Was my bag too dirty for him to mistake it as trash?

My legs were wobbly and my heart couldn't stop beating wildly at the precautions of my actions.

The moment I stepped outside from the Pack's house, I didn't wait for any seer to tell me what to do.

I ran!

Far away Into the woods but Mina's words stopped me.

"Mate!" She exclaimed immediately and I felt a heart-stinging pain that spread throughout my body.

"We need him, Mia!"

"You need who?!" I cried out in frustration and I would be lying if I didn't feel this strong compelling pull go towards the Pack's house. It was as if I left something sweet and something so important to me.

"We can't leave him! I need my mate!" the wolf whined in displeasure and I hated her at that moment.

I don't care how confused I am right now but I'll never be with Lorenzo cause he would reject me at first sight. I could remember when his sister had told him the possibility of me being his mate and should tone down his level of treatment but right there before her face, he rejected me against the future.

A bitter chuckle escaped my throat as I wiped my tears.

"I don't have a mate Mina, not him."

I muttered and walked farther into the woods going to god's nowhere until I heard noises in the dark woods.

The footsteps became nearer and heavier until I heard a cry.

"I found her!! Come over !" He said and my heart dropped in dread.

I didn't know who they were but they were not from Dark Wood Pack, they didn't smell like them as they smelt so strange.

I sprang into a run and as if they could sense my movement, they chased after me like a wild dog, breaking and snapping through the twigs that seemed to block the path, and all I did was run blindly hoping and praying not to lose my tracks until I hid myself from this strange people.

But that was short-lived when my legs twisted and I tumbled and rolled over down the sloppy woods with a loud bang and crack at my ribs. My head seeped down cold liquid and slowly, I slipped Into darkness.

I woke up to what sounded like an alarm and everything was extremely blurry before me. The nauseating smell of antiseptic and drugs filled my nostrils and when I tried to move my hands, I discovered I was connected to a drip.

Now this wasn't an alarm but a machine, I opened my eyelids to observe my environment and saw the most beautiful weird room ever.

"Thank goodness! She's alright." A lady's voice echoed.

"Better, I'll just observe her pulse and send Alpha Lorenzo over. She has the mark of Dark Knight on her arm, that could be the reason for the rogue attack."

A Male voice said and it took every strength in me not to spring up and run at the mention of Lorenzo.

Why does he carry such influence wherever I do and where the hell am I?

"Yeah, he would be pissed to know that the rogues from our Pack attack his own and she's pregnant!" The lady gasped in shock.

"Common Celine, alert Dark Knight, or this Silver Carnival would be a disaster!" He said and the lady scurried out.

I wanted to stand up and run but my body was too heavy.

The weight of punishment I'm going to receive once Lorenzo finds me here or knows about this pregnancy would be worse than death itself.

"Shh…don't cry. We'll take you back to your pack" The man dressed in a white coat said and I bit my lips in pain. If only he knew that he was saying the opposite.

"Where am I?" I asked, my throat was raspy and dry, and my eyes danced in circles.

"Green Oak Pack, this rarely happens as the rogues are out there to look for prey in this festive period. I apologise deeply but we'll personally make sure that you get treated accordingly."

"How about my baby?"I asked him.

"He's fine, but you're too stressed and the chances of having a miscarriage is very high. Please don't try to pass through any form of stress or you might lose the baby."

He said and I felt different about knowing the gender of my baby. It felt good and bad.

Because once Lorenzo finds out he will cage me until he takes his baby.

"The Carnival has already started, Let me check on the Alpha. I'll get back to you okay?" He told me politely and I nodded and watched him go.

The Silver Moon Carnival was more sacred than some activities displayed on other Packs. This was a general gathering of all the wolves and one's absence could cost one reign as an Alpha. It's a gathering of the prominent where the moon Goddess gives the Alphas and Lunas a special gift to make them flourish and excel in their pack. A celebration period for royals. They were slaves and women who were standby watchers, and then they were rogues who when seen would be killed. The last time I was asked about my personality since I was with him, I got confused and told them I was Lorenzo's Luna.

Silly me!

I was almost beaten to death when he denied it and our presence for that minute was over.

So being in such a pack right now and getting hospitalised wasn't so fantastic to me.

I removed the drip carefully from my fingers and stood up, ignoring the pounding pains in my head to head outside which was my mistake.

"Are you a maid, take this and serve the Alpha?" A random lady who saw me pushed the tray of mouthwatering dishes to me and pointed to a seat where a gorgeous-looking man was sitting.

Before I could protest, she was gone.

The Pack was busy and so beautiful, the next Carnival would be Dark Knight Pack but this year was for Green Oak.

Knowing that I had no choice but to serve the icing Alpha seated afar, I dragged my legs to meet him. It was a public display of dishes and I felt relaxed to know that I wasn't the only one serving the Alpha's seated.

"You're a Dark Knight?" He asked in amusement the moment I dropped the tray and I almost spilled the entire thing in fear.

I thought I could cover my tattoo with my hair but it's so obvious!

"Yes, Alpha." I bowed in respect and turned to leave.

"Is your Alpha aware? Lorenzo pampers his pack members like babies and won't let them out in any social gathering."

My heart started again, my head pounded heavily and I swallowed.

"I'll be on my way please," I begged but shock overwhelmed my entire body, draining my blood white when I saw Lorenzo's Beta coming in front of me.

No, it wasn't just him.

It's Lorenzo himself, looking like a dark archangel with fury. I was supposed to take the back side and run but my body gave way momentarily and I collapsed on the spot.
