Blake's POV
I had barely put a foot inside the door when a slap. Mother was screaming and hitting Rosemary again. I ran as fast as I could. Making it to the living room in time to see mother kick poor Rosemary who was ground. I reached down to help her up mad at mother for doing so again. Why did she have to mistreat her, when she had done nothing to deserve it. See Rosemary isn't really my sister. Her mother had left her in the care of my mother. She was only a year younger and the sweetest girl you could ever meet. If I am being honest. she is the prettiest girl that I've seen. Her raven black hair reaching down to her waist which I always brushed so it wouldn't knot, brown eyes that always stared up at me with such innocence, olive skin that felt smooth under my touch. it almost felt like electricity coursing through me when I would grab her hand or arm. I know that she doesn't see me as anything more than a brother, after all, we grew up together. I won't say anymore. I don't remember when mom started to treat her terribly. She had always been kind to Rosemary and treated her as if she were her daughter. But one day after I came home from school I found Rosemary laying on the ground. her hair a mess and her right cheek burning red. I was scared and called mother to help me with her. Mother shouted back "LEAVE THAT WORTHLESS GIRL ALONE." After that mother would just constantly mistreat her when I wasn't around. Either wise I would stop her, As for Rosemary, she wouldn't tell me what was happening. But I could see the bruises, knotted hair, and cuts. I don't know why she would never report it and of course, she wouldn't allow me to do so. I felt helpless and unable to do anything for her. But now that I am turning 18 I can do something for her. I will take her away from this. I just hope she will accept me.
After the bell rang I happened to notice that Rosemary wasn't heading to class, But instead heading in the opposite direction and into the woods. It was raining after all and it seemed that she loved the rain. I checked my surroundings before quietly following her. Being careful not to make a sound I got closer. She was truly breathtaking as I watched her spin and laugh in that little clearing. I loved it when she laughed. I stepped forward accidentally stepping on a fallen branch as it crunched under my feet making her come to a halt as she stepped back fear in her eyes, soon replaced by a look of surprise. Of course, she would be surprised as she realized it was me. "Rosemary you shouldn't run off into the woods," I said. "Blake what are you doing here?" she asked. "Well I saw you run off and I just followed." chuckling softly as I saw her roll her eyes at my response. "You should be in class...after all, it is your senior year." she stared at me with those brown eyes. "Rosemary, do you remember what today is?" pouting as she tought for a second. "Last I checked it is Thursday and you have a date with...a girl?" confusion on her face. unable to help myself gently poking her nose a chuckle escaping my lips. "Wrong. I mean it is Thursday. But you're wrong about the date." lifting her off of the ground oin my arms amused by the look on her face wide eyed in surprise. "It's my 18th birthday, and I have a secret to tell you." I couldn't help but notic her cheeks starting to a she averted her gaze for me. feeling hurt for a moment, chuckling once again as she wiggled like a worm trying to escape my hold. gently placing her back down "Let's meet here after school!" shaking her head the fear on her face. ahh she worried about mother getting mad at her again. I decide that it is better to meet again once my mom has fallen asleep. We make our way out of the woods, walking along beside her since I want to spend just a little more time before having to head back to class. Stopping at her class looking at her before I decide to go to mine. I can't help but be excited to tell my secret tonight. Hoping that she will accept me and hopefully I can finally convinve that it would be best just to leave my mom behind tonight. Somehow I need to find away to get her to come with me so that I can keep her safe from mom and anyone else. I know that I can't protect as it is right now. But I just can't let her to be contunously hurt. Please show up tonight Rosemary...Please please do. Letting out a soft sigh, running my hand through my hear trying to calm myself down before steeping back into my class. Just 4 more hours before school lets out and ugh a way longer wait before night time. I need to go to practice. Stepping into my class as I'm greeted by my best friend Damien. Though compared to me he is a delinquent. hahaha or so many says. "Yo Blake." walking down to my seat "Sup Damien?" I respond taking my seat. Damien sits down, turning around to face me. whispering softly so only I can hear. "Let me guess...you were with Rosemary again." nodding my head in response. "Look at you being a good big brother to your little sister." he says chuckling. "I don't blame you. Your sister is very cute. Do you think she would go for me?" punching her on his shoulder. "I'm not letting you near my sister Damien." growling softly at the thought of him next to her. "Whoa relax I was just joking around. But you do realize that eventually she will find someone that she is interested in. Not only that but you won't be by her side forever." he says rubbing her should. His comment just makes me mad. Opening my mouth to say something but I'm interrupted by the teacher as class begins.
