Start Of Something New

The hospital canteen delivered breakfast at last. Josh had to help Alex with it and she did not argue with him. She just let him have his way, it's not that she is comfortable with it but she has to endure in the meantime. She was chewing the last piece of her toast bread when Senior Bleak came into her ward and was delighted to see her looking so much alive. Senior Bleak was glad. "Alex darling, I am glad to have you back." Senior Bleak kissed her cheeks and flashed a knowing smile to Josh who huffed in his mind but he dared not show his displeasure in front of his grandfather. The doctor came in at some point and saw that everyone was complete. "Sir, according to your request, there is no need for Mrs. Bleak to remain here in the hospital. An arrangement has been made and a nurse will follow you to take care of her at home until she is fully back on her feet." The doctor said and Senior Bleak nodded He trusts the hospital in the health aspect but in a sense of security, he is not sure because some suspicious activities have been going on around the hospital and he's not comfortable with it. With the latest information, he had heard. It's like a lot of people are after Alex and he wants to find the reason. Apart from going to be a wife to the Bleak, Senior Bleak wants to know why for the past few hours, not one, not two but many seem to be after Alex's life. He concluded that there is more to Alex than is known and he would make sure he finds what it is. Right now, he would make sure she is safe. "Alright, we could as well leave now?" The old man said and the doctor beamed. "Sure, you are free to go" Being said, the doctor left and Josh gathered Alex in his arms, and with his grandfather following through, they left the hospital. Josh made sure that Alex was lying comfortably inside the family Bugatti, Grandfather seated and same with him. Jude drove the car out of the hospital. In the distance, a masked man was seen staring at the Bleak Bugatti as it drove out of the hospital. "Hello Boss, the lady has left the hospital." He said and the person at his end smiled. "It means she is okay then. Keep an eye on her and tell me whatever you find and also make sure to double your men. You are to guide her with your life, left alone, the Bleak men are not enough. I trust you on this" The call went off and the guy smiled. "Sure boss, no harm will be near her. We got her covered" ************* Ander has his bath already with nothing to do apart from worrying about his sister. He decided to see more of the mansion. He made sure to pick up his phone in case his sister decided to call. On his way out of the room given to him, he saw Silas who smiled at him and told him his sister will be here very soon, that news alone brought unfathomable joy and he could not wait to see his dear sister. The Bugatti came to stop at the Bleak mansion on the outskirts of the town. Senior Bleak thought maybe Alex will be safer here because not many know about this mansion of his. The Bugatti opened and a young man of about 19 years raced down to meet them. There was no doubt that the young man in question was Alex's younger brother. Since Silas told Ander that his sister was on her way, he had come to stand at the Foyer in wait for his sister, and no one needed to tell him that the car that just arrived at the mansion had his sister in it. Josh saw him and marveled at the striking resemblance between Alex and him. Ander stilled when he saw that his sister was not moving and fear gripped his heart. Senior Bleak saw the fears written in his eyes and smiled reassuringly. "Young man, you need not worry. Your sis is fine, she just has a little health issue and she will be up in a few hours." That assurance was not what Ander needed, he just wanted to see his jovial sister. The last time he spoke with her on the phone. Alex never mentioned she was sick or have these people done something to his sis? "Alex" He called softly and Alex stirred in Josh's arms and opened her eyes to see her heartbeat, her brother was right there in front of her looking okay which means he was fine all along. She sighed and muttered his name then closed her eyes. Though she was not looking great but with the fact that she mentioned his name, he is fine with it. He guessed she would be back on her feet soon like the old man said. People don't predict they will fall sick so he has to stop blaming her for not mentioning she is sick to him. Josh carried Alex inside while Ander and Senior Bleak followed him behind. They both stopped at the large living room and he carried her to his room. He laid her on the bed and went out of the room after closing the door behind him. He met his grandfather in his study room. "The priest will be here in the evening to bless your marriage and the court papers is ready so all you have to do is sign the paper both of you and that will be all and maybe later in the future if you want to have a big wedding, you can go ahead but right now, I think Alex's life is in danger so you both have to lie low." Josh said nothing and his grandfather continued. "This is your plane ticket to Miami and a hotel reservation has been made for your honeymoon, I don't need to tell you the hotel because you already know, and again…" Senior Bleak handed him a file "This is the Bleak mansion business papers, go through it. I am handing the company over to you. You can run it alongside yours. I don't see a better candidate than you. Have a good day." With that, he dismissed Josh who left without a word. Josh was amused at how his grandfather had had everything planned out in the space of a few hours. He always knew his grandfather to be a man who takes action. " Imagine planning a honeymoon on my behalf, grandfather you will never cease to amaze me though. Thanks so much." First time in his life, he is being grateful, it's just the start of something new. Somehow Ander has managed to sneak into the room after Josh left. He just wanted to talk to his sis and that's all. The condition he met his sis did not sit well with him. Alex was hardly sick and even if she is, she hardly showed Ander that she is, so literally, this is the first time he is seeing his sis so down, and worst of it on a Christmas day. "Sis, you remember the last time you called me on the phone you promise me, rather you told me that you got a lot of presents for me and I was coming back home to spend Christmas with you, with the hope that I was going to have so much fun with you but I met you in bed, sick, why?." Ander mumbled as he watched his sis lay on the bed helplessly, not moving. "You've got to wake up sis, you have got to tell me that you're okay and probably have Christmas lunch with me. We always do that, remember?" He said and sat quietly on the bed. "Sis, I'm here with you, I don't even have a clue of what is going on. You need to tell me who these people are and why you are here. you've got a lot of an explanation to do, you owe me a lot." Ander continued talking aimlessly with no hope of Alex could hear him. It is heartbreaking for him to watch her in that condition.
