Serena wanted to take Kaylee out to the mall to get her some new winter clothes but she also want to surprise by taking her out to the forest to her favorite place. She knew Kaylee was going to love it. Serena went to her daughter’s room to wake her up and get her ready for their day out. Serena gently shook her daughter trying to wake her.
"Time to wake sweetie," she said sweetly.
Kaylee groaned in to her pillow, "I don't wanna get up mama I want to sleep more!"
"If you don't get up sweetie, I can't give you the surprise that I have," Serena said in a sing song voice.
Kaylee shot up immediately and jumped off her bed and looked at her mother, "what surprise mama!" she squealed
Serena walked to the door getting ready to leave, "you will get it soon my dear moon child, you need to get dressed and come down for breakfast." She said walking out the door and headed for the kitchen to make breakfast. Kaylee ran in to her closet to grab something to wear. She grabbed a white frilly dress with a pair of black tights, she also grabbed her black Ugg's. Kaylee got dressed quickly, she was excited for what her mom has for her. She ran to her door swinging it wide open and running down the stairs to the kitchen to meet her mother. As Kaylee hit the last stair she could smell the delicious scent of pancakes coming from the kitchen, she excitedly quickened her pace. Kaylee rounded the corner to find her mother sitting at the dining table with a plate stacked high with pancakes.
"PANCAKES!!!" Kaylee squealed loudly. She ran to the table and sat in the seat next to her mother, Kaylee looked excitedly at her mother then at the big stack of pancakes. Serena pulled out a plate and put to pancakes on the plate, she the plate in front of her daughter. Then she grabbed herself a plate and started to eat with her daughter. They ate in a comfortable silence for a little while, Kaylee was starting to get to excited thinking about what her mother had for. She started to fidget in her seat.
"Mama what is this surprise you have for me, I'm really excited about it that I can't stop thinking about it!" she asked wiggling her eyebrows.

Kaylee jumped up and down excitedly, "oh yay!!! I'm excited!!!" she exclaimed. “Oh mama can I bring Sapphire it will be a lot of fun to have her at the mall with us!?" she asked excitedly. Serena simply nodded her head while she was picking up the dishes and clearing the table.
"Yes! Imma go wake her up mama I'll be right back!" Kaylee yelled as she was running through the kitchen door way and around the corner. She headed straight to her best friends room. After Kaylee got Sapphire up and ready they ran to Serena and left for the mall to do some shopping.

Serena, Kaylee, and Sapphire load up the car with everything they bought at the mall. They finished with the loading and got in to the car to drive back to the pack house to drop off Sapphire and everything they bought. She wanted her daughter to love this place as much as she did, she wanted to be a place her daughter can escape to as well. They arrive at a small embankment by the river, Serena looked down at her daughter and watch her face looking around in wonder.

"Mama, this place is so pretty. I love it!" Kaylee said as she looked at her surroundings. She took notice of every tree, bush, and flowers that lined the river. Serena sat down on a fallen tree near the river. Serena watch the swaying for tree's as the wind blew around them. She reached up around her neck and unclasped her silver moon pendant and held in her hands admiring it for a minute.
"Kaylee honey, come here and stand in front of me and look at the river," her mother said. Kaylee did what her mother asked. Serena reach up and placed the necklace around Kaylee. She clasped it closed and turned her daughter towards her. "My dear moon child, it time I give you my necklace. This has been our family for a long time, some say it was given to our ancestors but the moon goddess herself. It has been pasted down to each first daughter of our family, and now it my turn to past it down to you." she said happily. Kaylee pick up the moon pendant and stared at it in awe, she was speechless at what her mother had given her. Just when Kaylee was going to say thank you, she heard a twig snap from a crossed the river. Kaylee looked at her mother and then to the river as she smelt the air, and what she smelt cause fear to creep inside of her. Serena grabbed Kaylee by the shoulder to force Kaylee to look at her, "Kaylee honey I need you to look at me and listen to what I tell you, you need to run back to the house and get Papa. You need to tell him a rouge has entered our pack lands." Her mother said in a hushed tone. Kaylee nodded and was about to take off running when the rouge jumped a crossed the river in front of her. Kaylee froze and stared at the mangy looking wolf, she was afraid if she move it was going to kill her. Her mother shifted in to a beautiful white wolf and jumped in front of Kaylee to protect her. The rouge growled at Serena and Kaylee, it lowered itself to the ground getting ready to lounge at them. Kaylee stood there unable to move, it was like her feet were planted into the ground. Serena growled a loud warning growl at the rouge, telling it to not get any closer.
'RUN KAYLEE NOW!!!' Her mother yelled though the mind link. Kaylee stared wide eyed in fear, she was trying to will her legs to move but they didn't they stayed rooted to the ground. The rouge lounge toward her mother with it jaws wide open to bite her, but her mother brought up her paw an hit the rouge in the jaw causing it to fly a few feet away hit the ground. It whimpered in pain as Serena stocked over to the rouge hoping to kill it before it got up again, but the rouge jumped up and growled at her. They circled each other looking for a way to attack. But it dodged and launched itself toward Serena, the rouge clamped it jaws around her neck causing a loud sickly crunch killing her mother. Kaylee let out a high pitched scream causing the rouge to drop her mother on the ground. The rouge looked at Kaylee, it was going to attack her but it heard approaching footsteps. The rouge turned and ran leaving Kaylee staring at her dead mother, she ran to her mother side. She fell to her knees and grabbed ahold of her mother’s white fur, gripping it tightly in her hands as tears streamed down her face.
"M-m-mama.... mama P-please... wake u-u-up..... You c-can't l-l-leave me!!!" Kaylee whimpered out between sobs. She buried her face in to her mother’s fur and sobbed uncontrollably. She was crying so hard she didn't hear her father come up behind her. He stood staring at his mate laying lifeless on the floor with his daughter crying into her fur, grief overwhelmed him. He didn't know what to think, he didn't know what to do. The more he watched his daughter cry the more the rage built up inside him. His grief and anger clouded his mind, it was making him go mad. His anger overwhelmed him and he directed at his daughter because she was the only one who was there when she died. He walked over to where is daughter was kneeling, he pulled her off of his mate a tossed her back. Kaylee hit the ground with a thud while her father feel to his knees next to his mate. He cradled her head in his hand as tears were streaming down his face, he turned his face to the sky a released a heartbreaking howl letting his pack know there Luna has died. His sons came running after the howl, they froze when they saw the scene in front of them. They saw their father crying over there dead mother while Kaylee was curled in to a ball sobbing. Then suddenly their father stood and faced Kaylee.

"A r-rouge showed u-up, mama f-f-fought it t-t-to protect me." She said with tears streaming down her face. But her father wasn't listen to everything she said because he was slowly losing his mind. He walked over to her and got in her face.
"YOU killed her didn't you, you little b***h! SHE WAS YOUR MOTHER!" he yelled while yank her up by her hair, Kaylee winced and whimpered by the force he used to pull her up.
"I d-d-didn't kill h-her, a rouge k-killed her w-w-when she was protecting me," Kaylee stuttered out. But again her father wasn't listening to her.
"If a rouge killed her it would have killed you to, but your still here your still alive while you mother lays there dead! I don't believe a single work you’re saying Kaylee, YOU KILLED HER!!" He seethed at her. She whimpered at her father’s word but before she could say anything her father slapped her a crossed the face. "YOU are not my daughter! YOU are not part of this family anymore! YOU’RE nothing but an omega to me! YOU ARE NOTHING BUT THE DIRT I WALK ON!!" He bellowed at her then through her to the ground. Kaylee knew she couldn't reason with her father because he lost his mind to the grief of losing his mate, so she just accepted her fate and sobbed on the ground. She sobbed for the loss of her mother and her family.
