21. Ridge

927 Words

Twenty-One Ridge The more I thought about things … me and Karrie, my conversation with my brother, my parents and family relationships, the more I wondered if I was being too cautious. And, if I was letting fear hold me back. I’d always thought of myself as a casual kind of guy, interested in hookups and s*x, but not anything deeper. But, now that I’d met and spent time with Karrie, I was starting to think the baggage from my childhood was possibly standing in the way of something amazing. I’d always been so adamant about not getting too serious, that if I didn’t get my head out of my ass, I could let the most amazing girl I’d ever met slip through my fingers. I was cockblocking myself. Before we’d met for lunch, I’d decided I was going to get out of my own way and see what happened.
