Perci was running laps at the park, sometimes passing a coloured man who groaned every time she did pass him.
After about an hour, she stopped and started to stretch out her legs. She didn't even need to catch her breath.
The demigoddess took a deep sip from her water bottle. Running seemed to take her mind off Thor, who just up and left after about a year getting to know each other.
Poseidon's daughter stood up straight, twisted to the right then to the left, her spine crackling. Rolling and popping her neck, Perci noticed a black SUV parked across the road. And she could definitely tell it was for her.
The back door opened and Annabeth stepped out, "Oi! Seaweed Brain! Come here, want ya to meet someone."
Too surprised to see the blonde, Perci jogged across the road, over to her without even thinking, wondering what the hell was happening.
The Daughter of Athena swung the door wide, so she could get in. The sea green-eyed woman rose an eyebrow at the man sitting opposite her. Yes, the inside of the SUV was nice.
Leather seats and cup holders.
"Holy Hera cup holders!"
Annabeth, now sitting next to her facepalmed, "Of course, you'd be surprised by cup holders."
The man chuckled softly. His brown hair was thinning and he wore what looked like a pressed, fitted suit. One of those weird earpieces was also going off in his ear.
How he could stand hearing everything all so loud, considering Perci could hear it from all the way over there she would never know. He'll definitely be going deaf.
"Seaweed Brain, this is Phil Coulson, Son of Athena."
"Yeah? Nice to meet ya, welcome to the family," The Sea's Daughter grabbed his hand and shook it. Phil winced at her strength, but she barely noticed it.
"And you Miss Jackson. It is a pleasure to meet you."
She shrugged, a little embarrassed and sat back in her seat.

"You want me to what?"
Phil looked at her blankly, "I need you to help in getting the Tesseract back. Loki's taken it and I'm pretty sure that's a bad thing."
Sally was sitting next to Perci, nursing a cup of coffee, while the agent stayed standing. The two other agents were busy stuffing their faces full of blue cookies in the kitchen.
Bastards.
"Why me?"
"Loki might listen to you."
She blew a raspberry, "Yeah, I only met him once and he barely said anything because I was too busy running out the room, not to mention that was, what? About two years ago."
He shrugged, "I heard. But you're known among all cultures. You could still reason with him, seeing as you're supposed to his sister-in-law."
Perci scowled. She hated it when Athena's kids were right.
Wait, all cultures? Cool.
But it was like Phil already knew he had her.
Curse her fatal flaw!
"Pack a bag, Miss Jackson. We have one stop before we go to the helicarrier."
Immediately, the young woman brightened, "Are we going to get Nicky?"
"He hates it when you call him that."
Poseidon's Daughter gave him a mischievous grin, "Oh I know. Why do you think I call him that?"

Unfortunately, Perci didn't get to see Fury. He'd fled when he'd heard she was on her way. But the Director would never admit it.
So instead, the demigoddess was struggling to keep in her laughter that was threatening to escape, as she watched Phil Coulson make a complete fool of himself in front of his hero.
The old super soldier was sitting on one of the benches, looking out down at a laptop with a confused expression, when Phil approached him.
"So, this Doctor Banner was trying to replicate the serum that was used on me?"
Agent Coulson nodded and replied, "A lot of people were. You were the world's first superhero. Banner thought gamma radiation might hold the key to unlocking Erskine's original formula."
Steve's the first mortal hero. Wait no. Jason was.
"Didn't really go his way did it?"
Perci had to hold back a laugh at how awkward Phil was acting. And she swore she could see the sparkles in his eyes.
"Not so much. When he's not that thing though, the guy's like a Stephen Hawking."
Steve rose an eyebrow in confusion and she bit her lip but did step in before Phil could put his foot in his mouth.
"He's like a smart person, " Perci said, but Coulson did stick his foot in his mouth.
"I gotta say, it's an honour to meet you, officially. I sort of met you, I mean I watched you while you were sleeping."
Idiot.
The demigoddess smacked her hand to her forehead and Steve looked a little weirded out.
The blond stood and walked towards the cockpit and leaned an arm against the roof of the entrance, looking out the front window. Coulson, close behind, gave Perci a dirty look, seeing her smug grin.
"I mean, I mean...I was present when you were unconscious from the ice. You know, it's really, it's just a...just a huge honour to have you on board."
The demigoddess snickered at him.
"Well, I hope I'm the man for the job."
Phil then nodded furiously, "Oh you are. Absolutely. Uh...we've made some modifications to your uniform. I had a little design input."
"The uniform? Aren't the stars and the stripes a little...old fashioned?"
Again, Perci spoke up, "With everything that's happening Captain, the things that are about to come to light, people might just need a little old fashioned."
Steve turned around to face the demigoddess, a small smile at her comment, "No offence ma'am, but why are they bringing you in?"
Perci gave him a smirk.
He looks like a Labrador puppy.
She had to hold back a laugh at the image of a yellow lab dressed in the Captain America outfit and helmet, the circular shield in its mouth a frisbee. She almost giggled, "Let's just say Captain, that I'm experienced in this field of work."
Still, a little confused, Rogers nodded slowly, facing the front end of the plane again. Phil glanced at her and she gave him another s**t-eating grin. He glared at her and with stars in his eyes yet again, looked at his most favourite mortal hero.
