“You Will Be Ruled By A Woman.”

1250 Words
The crack of thunder made Thor frown. He hadn't summoned anything. Everyone turned to the sound, was coming from Zeus's Master Bolt. The Norseman almost facepalmed. The King of the Greek Gods stood high above everyone, so all eyes were on him, "I'd like to give a toast. First to the Seven." He raised a glass and all other glasses quickly followed. Perci snorted, crossed her arms and raised a perfect eyebrow at him. Zeus glared at his niece, "For saving us all from Gaia and the Giants. As well as to those who defeated Kronos and the Titans. We could not have done it without you." Off to the side, Dionysus called out drunkenly, "Hear hear!!" Next, to Thor, Loki scoffed in amusement, scaring the crap out of the blond God. He punched his brother in the arm, making the God of Mischief stumble away, grabbing his bicep with a killing look. His glare, however, only made Thor give him an innocent grin. The two then noticed that Odin had joined Zeus, in front of everyone. Perci saw Poseidon begin to panic, "You bastard. You swore you would not announce it toni-" Her father dissipated and appeared right next to his brother. He began to furiously whisper into his ear. One brother's face turned thunderous, while the other's turned stormy. Murmurs rippled through the minor Gods and Goddesses. The rest of the Seven joined Perci, Annabeth and Jason. For some reason, Thor stayed right beside the Daughter of Poseidon to the Roman demigod's frustration. Loki stood next to Thor, leaning on his cane with a bored look. Perci's gaze swept over the crowd and for a moment she met Aphrodite's. She grinned and gave her two thumbs up to the demigoddess's confusion. Her attention flickered over toward Hera, who was watching her with a conflicted expression. The sea green-eyed heroine darted over the other Gods. Apollo looked disappointed. Artemis was sympathetic and thoroughly annoyed. Athena wore a blank face like she didn't know what to think. Hestia, sad and apologetic. Demeter was munching on a muesli bar whilst glaring at Hades. The God of the Underworld had his hand on his wife's waist, the Original Persephone. Hermes was too busy talking on his phone, with George and Martha arguing with each other. Ares was chatting animatedly with the Norse God of War, whats-his-name. And Hephaestus was playing with a little gadget. Zeus must've said something because Poseidon visibly sighed and looked away with a dangerous scowl. Perci's father collapsed into a puddle of sea water, disappearing to...wherever. Zeus coughed, clearing his throat and raised his glass once more. "Odin, the Allfather and I have declared an alliance between the Greeks and the Norse." It suddenly seemed like a moment to hold one's breath and the whole room did, "With the marriage of Thor Odinson and Persephone Jackson." Silence reigned over the room for a few moments before the quiet was broken with the shattering of glass hitting the marble floor. All eyes turned to the culprit, it being Perci herself. Annabeth was looking at her, shocked beyond comprehension and a hand covered her gaping mouth. Piper and Hazel's reaction were similar. The sea green eyed demigoddess took a shaky breath, a handful of her skirt and fled the room for the closest door. The only sound was the quick tapping of Perci's heels hitting the marble floor and the mountain quaking beneath her. :3 Thor was frozen, the news of his new betrothal making his eyes go wide. Not only that. But to the Persephone Jackson. In the corner of his eye, he saw the demigoddesses of the Seven chase after the Daughter of Poseidon. The blond God turned just in time to see them leave the room. Lord Leo was scratching his head with a confused face, his curly hair moving wildly with every touch. Lord Frank's eyebrows were practically gone, near his hairline. And Lord Jason was giving Thor a look akin to his father's. All three then quickly followed the girls. The celebration began again as if nothing had happened and Loki stepped closer to his brother, a thoughtful look on his face, "I do not know what to say." A look of shock replaced the thoughtful expression, spreading across his features, "The Mighty Thor? Doesn't know what to say? That's definitely a first." The Norse God of Thunder gave him an unimpressed look, "I am serious. I'm now...betrothed." Loki nodded, not at all sympathetic, "I find this quite amusing. You will be ruled by the woman, known to be fierce and stubborn." Thor narrowed his eyes and felt the need to boast, "Yes. But ruled by the most beautiful and most skilful warrior among the Greeks." The God of Mischief couldn't help but feel a little jealous. Over his brother's shoulder, Thor paled to see an approaching Sea God, "You might want to leave Brother. I have a feeling my future father-in-law wishes to speak with me." The black haired Norse God gulped and began to walk away, quickly whispering to Thor, "I do not envy you at this moment, Brother." :3 Surprisingly, Hera was the one to find Perci. It shocked her greatly that the Goddess had even gone looking, "Persephone." The demigoddess was leaning on the railing of the balcony, looking down at the city below, playing with a small blue flower, "Was it your idea?" "No, my dear. It wasn't." Perci didn't...she didn't know what to think. She wanted to get married and have kids. But not at eighteen. "I'm surprised Persephone." "How do you mean?" "I thought you'd be more reluctant and hateful." "Oh, I am. Ima kick his ass like no tomorrow and if Zeus is behind this ima kick his ass too. I'm gonna kick so many asses!!!" The Queen of the Gods smiled faintly, "You won't have to marry him right now." The demigoddess swivelled around to face Hera, "Yeah like that makes it any better!!" "No. It will happen though and you have five years. But I do expect you to at least spend time together," Her words made Perci blow a raspberry. "Plenty of time to get to know him, my dear." "Why are you helping me with this?" Again, Hera smiled, shaking her head with amusement, "I am the Goddess of Marriage and Motherhood, dear girl. I should know a thing or two." Perci narrowed her eyes when a thought then crossed her mind, "If Thor is a God...he's immortal right?" The Goddess hummed. "Does that mean...I'll be made immortal?" She hummed again, came close enough to cup her cheek and the Queen ran a thumb over her cheekbone, before leaving the demigoddess to mull over what she'd said. And swear and curse and pray to Hades that she kept her temper. But Mount Olympus still quaked under her immense turmoil. Making sure no one else was in sight, Perci pulled a silver chain and charm from her bra, the safest pocket there is. Poseidon had given it to her, and she'd felt an overwhelming need to bring it with her tonight, but not wear it. The circular pendant had small strips of metal, curved to look like small waves. Whatever Hera had said to her finally seemed to work, soothing Perci making her calm. Everyone felt relief when the rapid shaking of mountain slowly came to halt. Once again, the Gods had taken hold of her life and there was nothing she could do.
