**Gabe's POV**
When Vincent told me that Evelina met Kirsty for brunch, I’d been happy. I thought maybe the two were going to get along. It would have made things a hell of a lot easier for me. But when he informed me that Evelina had been upset after her meeting with Kirsty, I began to wonder if maybe Kirsty had said something to make her angry.
It didn’t take me long to realize Kirsty said something to Evelina to make her leave. The house was empty. She’d left a note with a hastily written “Good-bye. Don’t try to follow me". Nice try, Mi Vida.
I wasn’t about to let her go that easily. And especially not because of something Kirsty said. I was out the door in the blink of an eye, following her trail.
It was easy to track Evelina’s scent and find her just outside the border of my pack.
