Chapter 05

ASHTON I leaned back against the cold brick wall, taking a long drag from my cigarette. The smoke curled around my face as I exhaled slowly, my gaze fixed on Blaze. He was leaning forward, elbows resting on his knees, a pensive frown etched on his features. "Dude, you look like you're about to s**t a brick," I remarked, my voice laced with a hint of amusement. Blaze shot me a withering look. "Shut up, Ash. You know how Luther gets when someone crosses him." I snorted, flicking the ash from the tip of my cigarette. "Yeah, like a f*****g drama queen. But what's got your panties in a twist this time?" Blaze ran a hand through his tousled hair, his expression darkening. "Do you think we're doing the right thing?" I arched an eyebrow, taking another drag. " The right thing? Since when did you care about doing s**t like that Blaze?" "Since Bea transferred out," Blaze muttered, his jaw tightening. "Luther didn't have to do that." I exhaled a cloud of smoke, my expression hardening. "She betrayed us, remember?." Blaze nodded, his gaze distant. "But he didn't have to do that...much. He almost killed her Ash. We swear we don't do such thing in this school. We're goddamn shitty heads but we're not killer." I flicked the cigarette butt to the ground, grinding it under my heel. "Well, if what's it worth. He didn't really kill her. She deserves everything for what she did." Blaze shot me a dark look, but didn't argue. We both knew that Luther's obsession with control often led to more complications than solutions. As the warning bell rang, I pushed off from the wall, my expression hardening. "Whatever. Let's just talk about it later." The halls were already crowded when I made my way to class. Students rushed past me, their laughter and chatter filling the air. I kept my head down, trying to blend in, until a commotion near the entrance caught my attention. There, in the middle of the crowd, was Amanda. Her clothes were disheveled, her hair a mess, and her glasses were askew on her face. She looked like she had been dragged through a hedge backwards. "Oh my god, look at her," a girl whispered, her voice dripping with disdain. "What a nerd," another one snickered. Amanda's cheeks flushed crimson as she tried to straighten her clothes, her movements frantic and embarrassed. She caught sight of me and our eyes locked for a brief moment. In that instant, I saw a flicker of defiance in her gaze, a silent challenge that made me smirk. This was going to be interesting. I adjusted my stance, leaning against the lockers as Amanda approached, her cheeks flushed with embarrassment. A smirk tugged at the corner of my lips as I raked my gaze over her disheveled appearance. "Well, well, if it isn't our little lady," I drawled, my voice dripping with sarcasm. "You look absolutely ravishing today." Amanda's eyes narrowed as she straightened her glasses, her lips pressed into a thin line. "Spare me the mockery, Ashton." I tsked, shaking my head in mock disappointment. "Now, now, is that any way to speak to your superior?" I took a step closer, invading her personal space. "A true lady should know her place." Her defiant gaze met mine, and I could see the fire burning behind her eyes. "I don't answer to you," she spat, her voice low. I chuckled, undeterred by her feisty attitude. "Oh, but you do, sweetheart." I reached out, my fingers grazing her chin as I tilted her face up towards mine. "You see, we own you now. And a lady of your... stature, should learn to present herself accordingly." Amanda jerked her head away from my touch, her cheeks flushed with a mixture of anger and humiliation. "I'm not your possession, Ashton." "Aren't you, though?" I countered, my voice taking on a darker edge. "Luther made sure of that. And you'd be wise to remember it." Her jaw clenched, but she said nothing, her gaze dropping to the floor. I smirked, reveling in my small victory. I chuckled darkly, taking a step closer until I was towering over her and not believing I'm about to do this shit.. "You see, we own you now, and a lady of your... stature should learn to dress accordingly." Before she could protest, I grabbed her wrist in a firm grip, my fingers digging into her delicate skin. "Come with me," I growled, tugging her along as I made my way through the crowded hallway. Amanda stumbled, trying to keep up with my long strides. "Where are you taking me?" she demanded, her voice laced with a hint of fear. I didn't bother to respond, my jaw set in a hard line as I dragged her towards the parking lot. The cool morning air hit us as we stepped outside, and I steered her towards my sleek, black Mustang. "Get in," I ordered, opening the passenger door for her. Amanda hesitated, her eyes darting around the near-empty lot. "I'm not going anywhere with you," she protested, her voice wavering slightly. I leaned in close, my breath fanning across her face. "I don't remember asking," I murmured, my tone leaving no room for argument. With a resigned sigh, Amanda slid into the passenger seat, and I slammed the door shut behind her. I rounded the car and slid into the driver's side, starting the engine with a growl. The drive was tense, Amanda shifting uncomfortably in her seat as I navigated the streets with practiced ease. Finally, I pulled up to a towering high-rise, the penthouse suite reserved exclusively for our pack. "Where are we?" Amanda asked warily as I ushered her inside. "Our den," I replied, leading her towards the lavish living area. "Well, well, what do we have here?" Luther drawled, a slow smirk spreading across his lips as he took in Amanda's disheveled state. "Our little lady needs a makeover," I announced, pushing Amanda forward. "She can't seem to dress herself properly." Luther's gaze raked over Amanda's form, his eyes darkening with appreciation. "I see," he murmured, rising from the sofa. "Leave it to us, then. We'll make sure she's presentable." Amanda's eyes widened with panic as Luther approached, but before she could protest, Colt and Blaze were already flanking her, their strong hands gripping her arms. "Let's get started, shall we?" Luther purred, his gaze holding a predatory gleam.
