Prologue

          She sat on the ground, knees to her face.  The knee of her pants went cold and wet with tears. She looked up at the mirror, his reflection cradling her, comforting her from the tears. Although she could only see him from her bedroom mirror, she could feel his cold grasp wrapped around her soothingly The ghost of her past lover dancing with her emotions. She swiped at the air, hoping to spew away his image. She picked up a book of all the notes he had written. Stained with pain, she chucked the book toward the mirror. Glass scattered across the floor, each piece glimmering in the moonlight. She sobbed, using the palm of her hand to soften the tension in her head. For a split second, she noticed that a note was coming slowly down in front of her. She looked up and reached for the note, trying to avoid the shards of glass scattered over the floor. The note looked as if it had just been torn from a page. She lifted it up and read, “I’m sorry”
